From a registrar's perspective, the proliferation of registry 'quirks' > is the single biggest source of headaches we have. Add me as one more registrar in this line-up. As Keith already suggested a few times (btw. I loved the one about "the beautiful and unique snowflakes that they are") and Patrik confirmed, the various registries behavior is a nightmare to us. Just think about the internet where every country had it's own "protocol quirks" because of some "internal policies". But in the long term I hope it will be in the registries own best interest to help standardize and then stick to the agreed upon standard. Think about it the way Patrik explained.
