In some cases a barrage is appropriate.  For instance, I complained
about an advert to the ASA (about a Sony advert, I think), and they
wrote back saying that I had been the only person making a complaint,
so obviously it wasn't anything really significant.  I could easily
have got a few more people to complain as well, but I didn't want to
DDoS them.  However, it seemed that they actually measured strength of
public feeling by the number of complaints.

So, depending on the situation, a barrage of letters may well be
appropriate.  (I can't say about this case, though.)

Actually, reading some of those messages posted by people to the BBC
and then pasted into Slashdot, there were a lot of well reasoned
arguments there.  I do hope the BBC read some of them.
