Hi all,

I cannot get ACPI to work on my machine. My additional IDE controller
(CMD 649) does not work with ACPI enabled. I get the following error
messages:

ACPI-0352: *** Error: Looking up [Z00Q] in namespace, AE_NOT_FOUND
search_node c1c30ac0 start_node c1c30ac0 return_node 00000000

search_node c1c30dc0 start_node c1c30dc0 return_node 00000000

[\_SB_.PCI0.ISA_.SIO_.COM2._STA] (Node c1c30dc0), AE_NOT_FOUND
ACPI-0352: *** Error: Looking up [Z00Q] in namespace, AE_NOT_FOUND
search_node c1c2e300 start_node c1c2e300 return_node 00000000
ACPI-1121: *** Error: Method execution failed
[\_SB_.PCI0.ISA_.SIO_.LPT_._STA] (Node c1c2e300), AE_NOT_FOUND

and later:

ide2: DISABLED, NO IRQ

I saved the complete /var/log/messages to
http://www.rolandgruber.de/sonstiges/acpi-messages.txt.

The PC does not hang on bootup, just the IDE controller cannot be used.
If I boot with acpi=off the controller works without problems.

The mainboard is a Tyan S2460 (latest BIOS 1.05) with AMD 760 chipset
and two Athlon XPs. I'm running Debian Sarge with kernel 2.4.21 and the
latest ACPI patch.

If you need additional information, just tell me.

Greetings,
Roland
