Hi, I tried the same thing (i2c and lm-sensors) on my M2N and got the same results. As far as I can see, there seems to be two solutions to the fan problem 1) Correct the DSDT to report the correct cpu temp and use this temp to control the fan RPM's 2) somehow get ACPI to stay out of fan control. I don't know if this is possible at all, but some of my experiments show some strange results. If I don't load the thermal module and boot the laptop, the fan will turn on on at max rotations as normal. If I then reboot the machine when the fan is on, the bios takes over (at system startup) and lowers the fan rpm's. It is as if the bios detects that it is necessary to have the fan on, but that the rpm's are too high. For some strange reason, the fan is now controlled correctly (with three states: off, low rpms and high rpms). The high rpm state is now only reached when using alot of cpu time - e.g kernel compiling. Also, the rpm's are lowered when the cpu beecomes idle again. Does anyone have any ideas why this happens ? or how I can get this behaviour even at first boot ?
