Don't use windows ;-) No - seriously - I found out, that if I reebot the machine without the ac plugged in, the machine works fine. I guess it has to do with the bios changing the power management scheme, i.e the dsdt. In fact, this leads me to think, that this could have something to do with a bios error which in turn means that linux is not allowed to override the dsdt and hence reboots. But this is just a guess.
