Not to dissuade you, but you're reinventing the wheel a bit here. I've
got a big chunk of the Fedora Core 2 tree rebuilt for sparc already, and
I'm working towards installable test trees based off that.

RHL 9 is two months away from end-of-life, and a lot of the fixes
required to make various packages build properly in sparc have already
been committed in the Fedora upstream packages. I've been uploading
binary RPMs into the Corora directory on ftp.auroralinux.org, and I'll
do another major sync at some point this week (which should be all of
the core packages needed to create a vanilla buildroot). I strongly
recommend that you start poking that tree and building packages out of
rawhide instead.

But that's just where I'm taking Aurora. If you disagree, feel free to
make RHL 9 for sparc. :)
