I'm adding my new colleague Adriaan to the boat; he's a Debian fan and might want to join this mailing list.

We will both try to join you for the Sprint, probably in combination with another work trip, e.g. a visit to EMBL Heidelberg. With that respect both Switzerland and Germany sound possible for us👍🏽

Reading about the airport suggestion, are you expecting anyone to fly in (other than maybe Adriaan & me)?
I guess a decent train connection would be more important for most. 😅 (although a romantic off-trunk destination such as Harz or CH sounds great at least to me;-))

Curious how the plans evolve,

Yup!

Should there be an interest in reviving the seaside-in-winter-theme, I have
checked in Timmendorfer Strand, we would get reasonably spacious appartements
for 65€ a night that could accomodate two people.

That would be a 1:30 h train ride from Hamburg Airport. Alternatively I suggest
we take the IBIS hotel in Hamburg right next to the Hamburg (or any other :-) ) Airport.
