Good idea (too bad I haven't thought of that before...). I'll log it next time
it happens.
I reinstalled the packages (removed them all, deleted .kde and .kderc and
installed) and it haven't happened since.

However, what does happen is konqueror getting stuck - this happens quite
often, afterwhich even if I kill it and restart it, I can't get it to work.
This is quite reproduceable - is this a know issue?

Works for me... Have you got the necessary packages from experimental
installed? (mainly X or even only X, not quite sure..)

I think so. I've got:
deb ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian ../project/experimental main

in the source list, and the XFree version is 4.3.0-0pre1v1.

Here might be one of your problems:

"

Version 4.3.0-0pre1v4 is out on the FTP server. Now with the current apt-get issues you might have to wait.

It was out a month ago. I'm not sure myself how come it never updated from your version installed, for me as well so I went and downloaded
the packages manually and then dpkg -i the order necessary to get it running.

v4 is much more stable than v1.
