We're not going to add a lot of packages to the ISO this time. We'd rather make sure we have sane recipes than to ship with tons of binary packages that will consume many hours of integration and testing. The ISO is already at 1.5GB, so unless we're talking about small programs chances are they won't get in. Do you have any suggestion for a lightweight GUI file manager that we could consider including in Beta? > It's got: > Gimp (Eeepc didn't work, maybe low on RAM memory) > Mosaic (wtf? I'll review them for Beta. Thanks for the report. > On the Asus Eeepc: > I had a sistem crash while browsing the net on Firefox, took a picture if > you need it. Sure, that helps. I have seen some problems with the Intel video drivers when testing the ISO. Hopefully this one is not associated with the Xorg driver stack. > Couldn't open the Awesome menu hotkeys, or the Manual (but they poped-up and > worked on the Toshiba). Interesting. If you have time, could you do a small test? Edit ~/.xinitrc and replace "exec awesome" with "exec xterm". Then, when you type "startx" and the xterm window opens, type "awesome". When the window manager takes over, try to open the menu hotkeys again and check the xterm window for any funny error messages that do not appear when you do the same on the Toshiba machine. > No sound output. Some audio cards need special parameters when loading the drivers via modprobe. Also, make sure that the audio output is not muted on alsamixer. > Looking good, keep up the good work :) Thanks!
