Aacraid and DTL: case study

My server is a DELL POWEREDGE 1650 with Perc3, 2 scsi disks mirrored. aacraid works like a charm, no problem AT ALL on disks. But, I had to buy an extra internal Adaptec card to make external DLT Works. Here a cut from dmesg: "... Everything worked just fine, changing tape everyday , etC. But since May 5, my DLT tape hangs (all three leds shining). The only thing I found to make it all work again, and be able to eject tape is: shutdown server (electrically too, if just rebooting, DLT still hanged) and shutdown tape (electrically), remove scsi wire. Wait 10 seconds, rewire scsi external cable and rebooting all. Here a sample of what I have (yes, Amanda is running at 2 am) in /var/log/messages: May 6 18:27:40 master kernel: st0: Block limits 2 - 16777214 bytes. Everything I try to do in command as root got this message: master:~# mt -f /dev/nst0 eject /dev/nst0: Input/output error master:~# mt -f /dev/st0 eject /dev/st0: Input/output error So it is probably not a matter of problem with aacraid but: - I want to be sure it is not, thus, this could help you (hope so): dont hesitate in asking for more infos, extracts, whatever - If its a problem with Adaptec card? Will your new aacraid driver will help me, letting me the availability of external scsi connector to work (so no need of a enventually buggy Adaptec card..) - any help welcome, I must admit :-(( Thanks a lot..
