after I've got a WUSB11 v2.6 myself (donations are welcome from anyone
reading ;-) to further investigate Dossy's issues and it runs just fine here in both
adhoc and managed mode with firmware 0.101.x, would you dare to undo the
patch and try again (both managed and adhoc mode)?

Please run all tests with module param debug=0x180003 for at76c503 (and
collect kern.debug into syslog).

In adhoc mode, please first try the case where the peer (which one have
you got?) starts first and thereby creates an IBSS.
You should see an entry for the peer in the BSS table listed in syslog
with the above debug parameter and the syslog should finally say
CONNECTED. The other case (WUSB11 v2.6) should work as well.
