iwconfig Segmentation fault + machine lockup

Hi, I am having a minor problem with the driver. Minor because there 
seem to be no problem getting it to work when I load the module 
manually after my computer boots up. On the other hand if I disconnect 
and reconnect my USB WiFi adapter, sometimes it freezes my terminal OR 
ifconfig and iwconfig start generating seg. faults. I would like to fix 
or help fixing this problem, I can code but I don't know much about 
kernel development so I could use some help to get me started.

My USB device is a Linksys WUSB11 v2.8. and I am running Debian/Sarge.

The problem when the terminal does not freeze:
