Sorry for replying again to this message but i just checked all cables and 
they are all straight through cables. Even the one i use for the uplink to 
the other switch. I also tried switching cables with the working etherexpress 
and the problem persists.

I even checked if there are more recent BIOSes for my board, but i'm running 
the most recent.

I also ran diag100.exe and it reports the card is ok. When connected to a port 
other than 16, it reports no cable.

The card sharing interrupt with 2 other pci devices cant affect it in this 
way, can it ?
