Printing Problems with HP PSC series 1200 - 1300

hi all,
i have PSC 1215.
as a temp solution it worked for me (no scanning):

GhostScript updated to: 7.07.2
using CUPS 
device PSC 1215 in CUPS configured as 1210 at first USB port (not ptal...)
PrinterDrake correctly recognised device
Linux applications printing correctly using CUPS
 
pls post your experience with PSC 1200 - 1300 series
is there a solution for enabling both printing and scanning?
