Can't print after scanning on a Officejet 4215

After I scan via xsane, the printer will no longer print.  The docs stay
in the print cue.  The only cure is to delete the printer in Kprint and
reinstall with a new name!

I have tried restarting ptal-init, rerunning it, even (forgive the
windows reference) rebooting to no avail.

Any suggestions?
