Card periodically locks up under 2.6.7

I just upgraded from the 2.6.6 kernel (which my wireless card was working 
fine under) to the 2.6.7 kernel.  The card still works fine for a while, 
but every so often the kernel logs:

Aug  7 13:32:57 rivendell kernel: eth2: timeout waiting for mgmt response

When that message appears, the wireless card stops working.  It's running 
in master mode and the clients disassociate with it.
If I rmmod the prism54 driver then the module is removed ok but when I 
try to bring the interface back up my machine locks up.
