What driver version did you try?

What is the detection message?

I thought that this was fixed with a write to one of the undocumented
Window 0 registers.  The fix was implemented in 0.99Xc for 
   3c1556B-5, subsystem ID 0x10b7 0x6556

Perhap you have a new or different PCI ID.

Is this the ID that shows up?

This ID does _NOT_ have the WN0_XCVR_PWR flag used to enable the Window
0 setting.  I suspect that only some revisions of the board need this...

Please report back if this is the case.
