About: The aim of the Ant4eclipse project is to avoid redundancy of
Eclipse and Ant configurations in order to build small but powerful build
systems for the continuous integration process. It provides a set of tasks
for the Apache Ant build tool. This tasks allow developers to use Eclipse
configuration directly from their ant buildfiles. Included are tasks for
reading Eclipse's .classpath file, for computing build order for a set of
projects, and for launching Java applications as defined in Eclipse launch
configurations.

  Wed, Jul 13th 2005 22:02

Database :: Front-Ends
System :: Systems Administration

About: DB Solo is a powerful database development and management tool for
developers and DBAs. It has an intuitive user interface that allows you to
explore and manage your database objects as well as execute ad-hoc queries.
It supports Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, DB2, Solid, and MS SQL Server. In
addition to viewing and managing objects such as schemas, tables, indexes,
views, tablespaces, users, roles, sessions, and stored procedures, you can
view, edit, print, and export data from tables or the results of queries.
You can also graphically view foreign key relationships.

Changes: Support for table indexes was added to Schema Comparison Tool.
Schema Comparison Tool allows you to compare tables between two schemas.
It will report any discrepancies between schemas such as inconsistent
tables, columns, indexes, and constraints. Settings were added to Schema
Comparison Tool which allow you to select what attributes will be compared
between schemas. You can disable comparison of indexes, constraints, and
columns and have control over comparison details for these objects. Also,
you don't have to persist users name or passwords for server connections
anymore unless you want to.

the new AN.ON peer to peer forwarding technology, JAP users are now able to
donate a part of the bandwidth of their anonymous connection for other
Internet surfers to defend the freedom of the World Wide Web.

[025] - JGraph Layout Pro 1.2
  by bensond (http://freshmeat.net/users/BessyBoo/)
  Wed, Jul 13th 2005 12:53

Scientific/Engineering
Scientific/Engineering :: Visualization
Software Development

About: JGraph Layout Pro is a high performance graph layout library for
JGraph that automatically positions your graph, diagram, or network in a
visually pleasing manner. Layout Pro provides flexibility and a simple
design, enabling you to use circular, tree, force-directed, and
hierarchical layouts with ease. Example uses are organisational charts,
workflow and process diagrams, call charts, network diagrams, UML tools,
and more. It comes with its own documentation and an example applet.

Changes: This release adds a hierarchical layout, enabling you to
automatically position graphs and diagrams that have an overall direction
of flow. This layout deals with the more complex graphs to which the tree
layout was not suited, like workflows, process modeling diagrams, software
engineering diagrams and processes, database visualization, and call
charts. It also routes edges around nodes automatically, making for a more
attractive presentation. Various configuration changes and bugfixes have
been made to the other layouts.

  Wed, Jul 13th 2005 22:32

Communications :: Email :: Mail Transport Agents

About: Jsmtpd is a small and modular SMTP server daemon. It is heavily
based on plugins, and currently supports spam detection (Spamassassin,
Jasen, RBL servers, and BlackList), anti-virus (Clam Antivirus), Recipient
rewriting, and many other filters. Filtering is done with a customisable
tree of filters. Almost all functionality is implemented as plugins,
making it easy to fit your needs.

Changes: This releases fixes bugs in the I/O code on a minority of remote
SMTP servers. The SMTP sender protocol has been changed to handle specific
bad server responses. The DNS resolver plugin has been fixed to resolve
subdomain mail exchangers in case of primary domain failure. There is also
a first implementation of an SMTP relay delivery plugin. Finally, the
documentation has been updated, based on the development wiki drafts.

About: ReleaseForge is a GUI application designed for project
administrators and release engineers of projects that are hosted at
SourceForge. It is intended to make it easier and faster to create a new
release and edit existing releases rather than using the SourceForge Web
interface. It streamlines the release effort by prompting you for
information regarding your new release (version info, change log, release
notes, files to include, etc). It then seamlessly negotiates with the
SourceForge Web server, creating your release, posting your release
notes/change log, uploading your files to the SourceForge FTP server,
selecting the files for inclusion in your release on the SourceForge Web
server, updating the file attributes of each of the files and then, if
appropriate, notifying monitoring users of the new release.

Changes: The ability to email mailing lists and individual users has been
integrated into this release. ReleaseForge users can now automatically log
in to SourceForge and ReleaseForge without being prompted by using the
--auto commandline flag. The --config commandline option has been
deprecated. The configuration file (releaseforge.cfg) has been migrated to
the ReleaseForge data directory (please refer to the FAQ for implications).
The preferences dialog has been modified to accommodate the new features

About: rxvt-unicode is a clone of the well known terminal emulator rxvt,
modified to store text in Unicode (either UCS-2 or UCS-4) and to use
locale-correct input and output. It also supports mixing multiple fonts at
the same time, including Xft fonts.

Changes: This release adds options to the urxvtd that allow you to tie it
to a specific display or automatically fork into the background after it
has initialized itself. urxvtc and urxvtd now have their own manpages. A
bug that caused segfaults on non-Unix machines (e.g. Cygwin) and another
bug that could inhibit screen refreshes for extended periods when large
amounts of text were output without any newlines have been fixed.

[064] - System Configuration Collector 1.6.23 (Stable)
  by siem (http://freshmeat.net/users/scholtz/)
  Wed, Jul 13th 2005 12:04

System :: Monitoring
System :: Systems Administration
Utilities

About: System Configuration Collector (SCC) is yet another configuration
collector. It consists of a client and a server part. The client collects
configuration data in a structured snapshot, compares the new snapshot
with the previous one, and adds differences to a logbook. Then the
snapshot and the logbook are converted to HTML for local inspection.
Optionally, the data can be sent to a system running the server software.
On the server, summaries of the data are generated, and search/compare
operations on the snapshots and logbooks are available via a Web
interface.

Changes: This release will not update the keep file when running in
interactive mode. It ignores differences in the main log file when moving
data to "split" hosts. Split conditions have been extended with a simple
process check. A correction for Debian for large lines with many fields.
Include files have been added for logrotate.conf. Includes for Apache have
been corrected. Netscape Fasttrack server has been added.

[072] - Wiclear 0.8.1
  by David Jobet (http://freshmeat.net/users/djobet/)
  Wed, Jul 13th 2005 16:27

About: Wiclear aims to provide a simple, small, and accessible wiki. It
supports the XHTML and CSS W3C specifications. There is a simple install
program and an admin panel. All content is classified via a tree-like
structure. The wiki in itself is easily themeable (same capabilities as
dotclear), is multilingual, commentable, and supports history, diffs, and
editions. There are several types of users: admins, moderators, and simple
users. Moderators and admins can edit ACLs to reduce the number of people
allowed to modify a particular page. They can remove comments or
particular version of the content. Admins can edit/delete users, create
groups, edit them, set global rights (anonymous post, anonymous comments,
etc.), change themes, etc.

Changes: Bugfixes, support for PHP 5, and the first version of a wikiblog
plugin. A demo for the plugin is available online.

Communications :: Conferencing
Desktop Environment :: Tools
System :: Monitoring

About: x11vnc is a program that allows one to remotely view and interact
with real X displays (i.e. a display corresponding to a physical
monitor, keyboard, and mouse) with any VNC viewer. It is similar to
WinVNC and is designed to be compatible with all Unix variants and
depend on a very small set of standard libraries. It supports a growing
number of command line options, such as -nofb for dual- headed mode with
Win2VNC. It is part of the LibVNCServer project.

Changes: The X DAMAGE extension dramatically reduces the idle load and
picks up changes more quickly. Wireframes reduce lurching when windows are
moved or resized. The X RECORD extension is used to detect scrolling. The
polling of non-X "raw" framebuffers (a device file, etc.) is supported. An
example is provided for remote access to the Linux console. The
remote-control mechanism is safer in its default mode, and new options
(-safer, -nocmds, etc.) yield additional protections. The GUI can now run
in the system tray. Magnification scaling is improved for use in low
vision applications.

  by Colin Phipps (http://freshmeat.net/users/cph/)
  Wed, Jul 13th 2005 16:18

Internet :: WWW/HTTP

About: zsync is a implementation of rsync over HTTP. It allows updating of
files from a remote Web server without requiring a full download or a
special remote server application. It uses a metafile, which is created on
the server, to determine which parts of a file the user already has; it
then downloads the remaining parts via HTTP. No special server or Web
server module is needed. It also works with gzip files, and content on the
server can be compressed to further reduce download times.

Changes: A security issue with the code from zlib has been fixed. Some
improvements have been made to the HTTP code.
