Security

About: Antispyd is an HTTP/HTTPS threat filtering proxy server. The main
characteristic of this project is the modularity of his conception. The
program is organized around an HTTP/HTTPS gateway service and a set of
filters that can be enabled or disabled, and are all configurable with a
single configuration file. Current filters are: URL filtering, content
filtering, content-type filtering, cookie removal, pop-up removal, shell
code attack blocking, Web traffic anonymizing, and a signature-based
filtering engine. All filtering is done on the fly, without blocking
downloads in any case. It uses only POSIX primitives and is built with
autotools, and was created with security in mind.

Changes: A major man page update has been performed.

filesystem used by Windows XP, 2003, 2000, NT4, and Longhorn. It also
provides support for the Logical Disk Manager (LDM) that controls Windows'
Dynamic Disks and is used to create software mirrors, stripes, and RAID.

Changes: Lots of big improvements and bugfixes were made. Most
importantly, this release includes basic file and directory creation and
deletion, as well as hardlink support by ntfsmount via FUSE and in
libntfs. Ntfsdecrypt, ntfscluster, ntfsresize, mkntfs, and ntfsclone were

Changes: This version has moved from XFree86 to Xorg, from devfs to udev,
and from loop-aes encryption to dm-crypt encryption. This means that
finally there's no more need to patch the kernel, mount, and losetup to
create encrypted LVP discs. This also means that discs with version 0.5.0

  Mon, Oct 10th 2005 02:00

Text Processing :: Filters
Text Processing :: General

About: monq.jfa is a class library for fast and flexible text filtering
with regular expressions. In contrast to java.util.regex, monq.jfa allows
a regular expression to be bound to an action that is automatically called
whenever a match is spotted in an input stream. In addition, it can combine
several ten thousand regex/action pairs into one machinery (called a
"deterministic finite automaton" or DFA) for fast parallel text filtering.
A general purpose TCP server and associated classes in monq.net allow the
bigger DFAs to be run as servers.

Changes: The TcpServer could get stuck on unchecked exceptions thrown by a
Service. DfaRun could gobble all memory in mode UNMATCHED_COPY if no match
was found at all. A default word that historically was always added to a
dictionary by DictFilter can now be suppressed. The homepage got a link to
a wikified tutorial.

Information Management
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content

About: The Quon DVD Database is a complete solution to manage your movies
(of any type, including DVD, VHS, or any other medium). Highlights of this
program include user tracking, barcode scanner support, user access, a
login system, and an advanced searcher. It can check DVDs in and out of
your collection, allowing you to keep track of which of your friends has
them. You can send reminder email messages, or they can simply log in to
see what they have checked out.

Changes: The admin users are allowed to turn the registration system on
and off. The owner of the server is now able to only allow access to
specific people. The new user management system allows manual creation of
users. An oversight from the previous version that didn't include a delete
button for the entire movie was fixed. The delete button now appears when
logged in as an admin user.

[069] - WASP-PHP 1.0 RC1

  Mon, Oct 10th 2005 13:39

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content :: CGI Tools/Libraries
Software Development :: Libraries :: Application Frameworks
Software Development :: Libraries :: PHP Classes

About: WASP (Web Application Structure for PHP5) is a multi-tier web
application framework built on object oriented PHP5. The framework is a
simplified Model-View-Controller architecture. The controller is built by
adding content "Chunks" to "UIModules". The model portion of the framework
wraps PEAR DB_DataObjects in a business object layer. The view portion
currently makes use of PEAR Html_Template_Flexy, but can be easily
reimplemented using different template managers (or none at all).

Changes: This release represents a substantial improvement over previous
releases. The code base is the same as 0.9, but now the entire
build/setup/configuration process is automated using phing. Phing works
exactly like apache ant, and provides full automation of configuration
(using build.properties), application framework generation, and data model
object creation. Simply tell it the name of the app you want, tell it where
your database is, and it creates everything for you.
