[002] - Auto Project Planner 0.7
by don.didi (http://freshmeat.net/users/dondidi/)

Office/Business
Office/Business :: CRM
Office/Business :: Scheduling
About: Auto Project Planner automatically calculates a proper project plan
based on your effort estimations and the due dates you have in mind. A list
of tasks and a list of employees can be defined. Tasks can be assigned to
one or more employees. It is also possible to define a maximum percentage
value an employee can/should work on a task. Public holidays, leaves,
weekly working hours, and more parameters can be specified and are
considered in the calculation. According to this input, the software
computes time plans by minimizing the MSE (mean squared error) between
expected and computed end dates.
Changes: The new "Training Time" and "Productivity Rate" properties allow
handling of unexperienced and less productive staff members in planning.
Additionally, tooltips and a set of examples were added and should improve
understanding, especially for novice users.

[007] - Campcaster 1.2.0
by Campware (http://freshmeat.net/users/campware/)
Tue, Feb 20th 2007 05:02
Multimedia :: Sound/Audio
About: Campcaster (formerly known as LiveSupport) is a radio playout and
automation system. It enables radio stations to automate their broadcasts
by using playlists that are scheduled for airing. Playlists can contain
music, talk, or even other playlists. There is a GUI for live shows, and a
Web interface, so radio station personnel can manage the station's
broadcasts remotely.
Changes: Radio Data System (RDS) support was added. (Hardware is required
to take advantage of this.) Exporting files to removable media is now
possible. Importing audio is faster, and it detects duplicates, reads all
of the ID3 metatags, and now has the ability to link to files instead of
making a copy. Campcaster Web search is now faster and the results show
the album name and track number. The Live Mode audio player has been
improved so that reshuffling your playlists around is less likely to
create any pause before playing them.

Database :: Database Engines/Servers
Database :: Front-Ends
About: libdbi implements a database-independent abstraction layer in C,
similar to the DBI/DBD layer in Perl. Writing one generic set of code,
programmers can leverage the power of multiple databases and multiple
simultaneous database connections by using this framework. The plugin
architecture allows for new database drivers to be easily added by a
third party with flexible licensing.

[014] - DBIx::Perlish 0.17
by Grrrr (http://freshmeat.net/users/Grrrr/)
Tue, Feb 20th 2007 01:42
About: The DBIx::Perlish module provides the ability to work with
databases supported by the DBI module using Perl's own syntax for the four
most common operations: SELECT, UPDATE, DELETE, and INSERT. By using
DBIx::Perlish, you can write most of your database queries using a
domain-specific language with Perl syntax. However, the module is not
intended to replace all use of SQL in your program. The DBIx::Perlish
module quite intentionally neither implements nor cares about database
administration tasks like schema design and management.
Changes: This release adds autogrouping when aggregates are seen in the
return statement.

Communications :: Email
Communications :: Email :: Mail Transport Agents
Communications :: Email :: Mailing List Servers
About: The deepOfix Mail Server makes it possible for organizations with
minimal technical expertise to have robust server infrastructure. deepOfix
offers unprecented ease of use, doesn't require prior GNU/Linux experience
and is backed by a full-time development and support team. deepOfix
features LDAP-based directory services for user account management, email
delivery, distribution lists, and addressbooks. It also includes built in
tools for spam and virus control, webmail, and fetching email.
Changes: This release contains major enhancements to both the Installer as
well as EasyPush. Secure services are now installed by default and EasyPush
is also available under HTTPS only. The kernel upgrade to 2.6.18.6 ensures
that USB keyboards and newer network and disk controllers are detected
automatically. If you use a non-US keyboard, it's now possible to choose
your keyboard layout during installation. The network and firewall system
were completely revamped. The appearance was refreshed. Lots of language
changes were made.

[016] - Drop Bocks 0.5.1
by Señor Programmer (http://freshmeat.net/users/senorprogrammer/)
Tue, Feb 20th 2007 21:56
Internet :: WWW/HTTP
About: Drop Bocks is a complete, Web-based file upload administration tool
that makes adding file upload capabilities to any existing Web site simple
and straight-forward. Emphasis is placed on ease of installation, ease of
customization, and ease of use.
Changes: A missing "<?php" in index.php was fixed. upload_max_size and
post_max_size are now quoted in the source to prevent "unitialized
constant" warnings. $REMOTE_ADDR is now $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']. A warning
is now given if the maximum size is set greater than PHP's post_max_size
value. Unit conversion when displaying large files in the admin interface
was improved. The admin interface shows how many more files the dropbox
can accept before it is full.

Internet
About: GeoServer connects your information to the Geospatial Web. With
GeoServer, you can publish and edit data using open standards. Your
information is made available in a large variety of formats as maps/images
or actual geospatial data. GeoServer's transactional capabilities offer
robust support for shared editing. It supports WFS-T and WMS open
protocols from the OGC to produce JPEG, PNG, SVG, KML/KMZ, GML, PDF,
Shapefiles, and more. It is built on the GeoTools2 Java GIS toolkit.
Changes: This is the first release of the new WFS 1.1 capabilities that is
accessible to general users. Improvements that come with WFS 1.1 include
sorting, GML 3.1.1 support, and reprojection in the WFS. The WFS 1.1 is
completely CITE compliant, along with WFS 1.0, WCS 1.0 and WMS 1.1.1.
There have also been some core improvements to make it easier for
developers to create new services, including a new request dispatching
system. Though the release has been marked as alpha, it's only because
some of the 1.5 pieces have not been ported over. The majority of this
release should be quite stable.

Changes: A crash with Python bindings upon signal reception was fixed. The
ability to use system libltdl was added. On registration, NULL pointer
dereferencing is prevented if no permission was specified after the
permission type. Upon IDMEFCriteria parsing error, the library recovers
from broken parser state, implements detailed error reporting, and fixes a
string/criteria leak. Anonymous authentication is preferred to SRP, since
there are SRP compatibility issue between different GnuTLS versions. When

About: The aim of the PicoForge project (previously known as PicoLibre) is
to provide a set of high level libre software applications that are well
integrated in order to provide a collaborative "forge". It makes it easy
to deploy a collaborative work platform for developing software or hosting
other collaborative activities. Having started (as PicoLibre) in an
educational context, PicoForge is now a quite generic platform, comparable
(but sometimes less advanced) to other *-Forge software platforms. It
groups several high-level applications like phpGroupware, Sympa, TWiki,
Subversion, and CVS.
Changes: PicoLibre was renamed to PicoForge to reflect the "forge" nature
of the platform. The installation now relies on Debian packages to ease
system configuration. Many code cleanups were made along with a port to

on the video capable iPods. It uses the ffmpeg engine and allows batch
processing of any number of files, displays detailed information about
source video files, saves default settings for future sessions, has
configurable output quality settings, and displays a progress bar. Encoded
files can be uploaded directly to your iPod.
Changes: A bug in the h264 ffmpeg arguments was fixed along with a bug
with the progress dialog not showing up. An .m4v file filter was added in
the open file dialog for the file transfer list.

[067] - WordPress 2.0.9 (2.0)
by Dougal Campbell (http://freshmeat.net/users/emc3/)

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content :: News/Diary
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Site Management
About: WordPress is a state-of-the-art, semantic, personal publishing
platform with a focus on aesthetics, Web standards, and usability. It was
born out of a desire for an elegant, well-architectured personal
publishing system, and is the official successor to b2/cafelog. While
primarily geared towards functioning as a Weblog, it is also a flexible
CMS capable of managing many types of Web sites. In addition to the basic
Weblog functions, it also has an integrated link manager (e.g. for
blogrolls), XFN support, support for "static" pages, Atom and RSS feeds
for both content and comments, XML-RPC blogging API support (Blogger,
MetaWeblog, and Movable Type APIs), spam blocking features, advanced
cruft-free URL generation, a flexible theme system, and an advanced plugin
API.
Changes: This release contains two minor security fixes, along with other
minor bugfixes. Also, the freshmeat announcements for the 2.0 and 2.1
branches of development are being split now. This is to reflect the
continued support for the 2.0 branch as a Debian package, and this
branch's support for pre-4.0 versions of MySQL. Continued development of
new features will be in versions 2.1 and beyond.
