[001] - Accerciser Accessibility Browser 0.1.1
by Eitan Isaacson (http://freshmeat.net/users/eeejay/)
Fri, Apr 20th 2007 12:10
Software Development :: Debuggers
Software Development :: Quality Assurance
Software Development :: Testing
About: Accerciser lets you test all aspects of accessibility on the GNOME
desktop. It uses AT-SPI to inspect and control widgets, allowing you to
check whether an application is providing correct information to assistive
technologies and automated test frameworks. It has a simple plugin
framework that you can use to extend and customize the accessibility
information displayed. It is written in Python and uses the pyLinAcc
component from LSR to interact with AT-SPI using pyORBit. In essence, it
is a next generation at-poke tool.
Changes: A script recorder plugin that records UI interaction in to a
Dogtail compatable script. A script playback module for scripts recorded
via the script recorder plugin. The ability to configure all global
hotkeys in a new preferences dialog. Moved to a gconf backend for
persisted settings. A new plugin preferenced dialog is now accessible with
new context menus. New role icons.

alignment, and can be summed, subtracted, averaged, and divided. RGB color
images can be created from three images. Images can be saved as FITS or as
any format that KDE supports.

[011] - GENPO 0.9.5
by Steve M (http://freshmeat.net/users/merronys/)
Fri, Apr 20th 2007 12:00
Multimedia :: Sound/Audio
Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: MIDI
About: GENPO (GENeral Purpose Organ) is a program which replicates the
essential features of any pipe, theatre, or reed organ. It reads a
description of an organ (a .org XML file) and presents a suitable user
interface for operating that organ. There are a number of high quality
organ "SoundFonts" freely available and the .org file maps the stop sounds
to organ manuals and stops. Other facilities such and couplers and presets
are available. You may connect one or more MIDI keyboards to GENPO to
provide the organ manuals, and you can even assign one to be the
'pedalboard' if so desired.
Changes: This is a major release with a mixture of fixes, enhancements and
one significant new feature. Toe Pistons (whole organ combinations) have
been added and the .org specification has been extended accordingly. Also,
'Division' and 'Piston' are now preferred names for 'Manual' and 'Preset'.
For now the old names are merely deprecated: existing .org files will
continue to work for some time yet. All users are encouraged to upgrade.

Software Development :: Bug Tracking
About: PHP Trouble Ticket provides a centralized means of problem
reporting and tracking in multi-user environments (medium to large
companies, development groups, etc.). It helps direct problem reports to
the responsible administrator(s), keeps track of the status of a problem
being worked on, and offers an up-to-date list of recent changes applied.
It aims to be widely configurable, easy-to-use even for those not
technically inclined, and multi-language capable.
Changes: A ticket-"watch" function to stay informed on the progress of
tickets has been added. Tickets can now be set in relation to other
tickets by one of the following: "is related to", "is a duplicate of", and
"depends on". Users can close their own tickets if the problem was resolved
without an expert. Tickets can also be re-opened if a problem persists that
was presumably solved; this can be limited or disabled in the
configuration. Long change entries in ticket lists can be truncated to a
defined length, giving a "read more" link to display the rest. Areas can
now be renamed.

be grouped, so the Web server will show group symbols that the viewer can
open to inspect the hosts, or further sub-groups, within.

[031] - synscan 5.0-beta1
by Neil Kettle (http://freshmeat.net/users/mubdigit/)
Fri, Apr 20th 2007 13:14
Security
System :: Networking
About: SynScan is a fast half-open port scanner. It will send TCP packets
with the SYN flag set an arbitrary block of destination address. It
endeavors to send traffic as fast as the host network interface can
support.
Changes: A much cleaner codebase. Vast improvements in efficiency
(approximately ~20-35%). Incorrectly computed IP header checksums have
been fixed. Scan timing is adjustable via command line, which provides for
much faster network scanning. A greatly simplified design will allow for
future support for IPv6 (currently in beta).

[033] - Task Coach 0.63.2
by Frank Niessink (http://freshmeat.net/users/fniessink/)
Fri, Apr 20th 2007 15:43
Office/Business :: Scheduling
About: Task Coach is a simple todo manager to manage personal tasks and
todo lists. It grew out of a frustration that well-known task managers,
such as those provided with Outlook or Lotus Notes, do not provide
facilities for composite tasks. Often, tasks and other things to do
consist of several activities. Task Coach is designed to deal with
composite tasks.
Changes: This release fixes a bug which caused the task tree view to not
always refresh tasks after task editing.

Fri, Apr 20th 2007 19:44
Multimedia :: Graphics
Multimedia :: Graphics :: 3D Rendering
Scientific/Engineering
About: VisIt is an interactive parallel visualization and graphical
analysis tool for viewing scientific data. Users can quickly generate
visualizations from their data, animate them through time, manipulate
them, and save the resulting images for presentations. VisIt contains a
rich set of visualization features so that you can view your data in a
variety of ways. It can be used to visualize scalar and vector fields
defined on two- and three-dimensional (2D and 3D) structured and
unstructured meshes. It was designed to interactively handle very large
data set sizes in the terascale range, and works well down to small data
sets in the kilobyte range.
Changes: This release includes a number of bugfixes and new features. The
memory footprint while processing data has been drastically reduced. It is
more optimized for rectilinear data, reducing memory usage and improving
rendering speed. It includes a Spreadsheet plot for viewing data sets as a
spreadsheet in addition to viewing them graphically. This version includes
many enhancements related to setting legend properties, using VisIt from
Python, and performing data analysis.
