[003] - Apache SpamAssassin 3.2.1 (Stable)
  by Justin Mason (http://freshmeat.net/users/jmason/)
  Tue, Jun 12th 2007 23:34

Communications :: Email :: Filters
Software Development :: Libraries :: Perl Modules

About: Apache SpamAssassin is an extensible email filter that is used to
identify spam. Once identified, the mail can then be optionally tagged as
spam for later filtering. It provides a command line tool to perform
filtering, a client-server system to filter large volumes of mail, and
Mail::SpamAssassin, a set of Perl modules allowing Apache SpamAssassin to
be used in a wide variety of email systems.

Changes: A local user symlink-attack DoS vulnerability (CVE-2007-2873) was
fixed. It only affects systems where spamd is run as root, is used with
vpopmail or virtual users via the "-v"/"--vpopmail" or
"--virtual-config-dir" switch, and with the "-x"/"--no-user-config, and
without the "-u"/"--username" switch, and with the "-l"/"--allow-tell"
switch. This is not default on any distribution package, and is not a
common configuration. Other miscellaneous bugs were also fixed.

small enhancements have also been made.

aimed to enable applications to use the capabilities of a UPnP Internet
Gateway Device present on the network to forward ports. The daemon adds
the UPnP Internet Gateway Device functionality to a NAT gateway running
OpenBSD/NetBSD/FreeBSD with PF or Linux 2.4.x/2.6.x with netfilter. One of
its most interesting features is to enforce some permissions to allow or
deny redirections, bringing some security to UPnP.

Changes: In the Linux version of the daemon, the port mapping descriptions
are now correctly stored. The client library is now available through a
Python interface. This release also includes various bugfixes.

[027] - mp3togo 0.5.12

Multimedia :: Sound/Audio
Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: Conversion
Utilities

About: mp3togo is a command line tool for creating sets of low bit-rate
MP3 or Ogg Vorbis files for use on a portable player. It reads MP3, Ogg
Vorbis, FLAC, m4a, and WAV files, decodes and normalizes the file, and
then encodes the file in the desired output type. This makes large
archives of music compatible with generic portable players no matter what
formats exist in the archive. The smaller, disposable files produced can
be stored at a greater density on small capacity portable devices. Files
can be specified on the command line or read from m3u files or a running
instance of XMMS or Amarok. A cluster mode distributes the transcoding to
local LAN nodes.

Changes: eyeD3 support was fixed to work in the absence of ID3. A
--no-guessing-tags option was added.

About: mxGraph is a JavaScript library that uses built-in browser
capabilities to provide an interactive drawing and diagramming solution.
Target applications are Web based applications that require workflow/BPM,
diagram, network, or general graph editing to be available in-place on a
Web page.

Changes: This release fixes the handling of boolean values in input and
output. It adds mxGraph.getCellGeometry and
mxTerminalMarker.isCellConnectable hooks and an enabled field for
mxPanningHandler. It minimizes the number of layout calls in
mxGraph.remove and sets the terminals for new edges created in
mxConnectionHandler and mxEditor.createEdge. A wrong argument handover in
mxGraph.show was fixed, as well as a possible NPE in mxDefaultToolbar. A
simple static SVG, VML, and HTML export feature with support for
hyperlinks has been added to the Java backend.

  Tue, Jun 12th 2007 23:51

Documentation
Information Management :: Document Repositories

About: NOAH is a Web-based document management system that is
feature-rich, easy to use, and simple to install. Through a browser
interface, users can easily create, update, lock, search, and manage
document revisions for access by multiple users across many geographical
sites. NOAH includes many powerful features such as client scripting,
hierarchical document access control, and email notification.
Administrators can manage users and archives and monitor database activity
through an extensive suite of tools.

Changes: A new database structure provides a dramatic speed improvement to
content and meta-data searching along with a "theoretical" document limit
of 4 billion with no speed penalties to "upload" and "move" commands. A
number of user interfaces have been reworked, including the "move"
command, along with a more intelligent WasteBasket organization. This
release better supports browser bookmarks and gives the user more options
on how to handle directory references in search results and elinks. Client
Scripting now supports SSL for NOAH on a secure server.
