[001] - AJAX Image Dump System 1.0
  by vidarlo (http://freshmeat.net/users/vidarlo/)
  Sun, Jun 17th 2007 16:25

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content

About: AIDS (AJAX Image Dump System) is a simple, yet powerful AJAX-based
image host system. It's geared toward forum usage, and it generates
bb-code for cutting and pasting into forums that support bb-code. It lets
people create user accounts to keep track of their pictures, reaccess them
later to view stats, delete them, or simply copy the bb-code again.

Changes: This release fixes a lot of minor irritating bugs, and generally
cleans up the code for usage outside the author's need.

Software Development :: Embedded Systems
System :: Hardware

About: amforth is an embedded Forth distribution for the the AVR Atmega
microcontroller. Once put into flash, it needs only a serial connection to
the host computer. New words are compiled directly into flash, thus
extending the dictionary immediately. It is ANS94 Forth oriented. It is
written in assembly language and Forth itself. The main development uses
Atmega8 and Atmega32 controllers; other Atmega controllers work with small
adjustments.

Changes: This release adds the words LEAVE and ?DO. There are many
internal changes, and some sample applications that demonstrate how to
deploy amforth.

to be extremely safe for the eBooks; the eBooks themselves are never
changed.

Changes: This release adds support for Reading Lists, support for adding
custom tags (metadata), new right-click options, and a 'Browse' button for
selecting directories in the -Preferences and Checkout windows. There are
significant changes in the UI. Author has been added as a List on the

[014] - GNUnet 0.7.2
  by Christian Grothoff (http://freshmeat.net/users/grothoff/)
  Sun, Jun 17th 2007 05:10

Communications :: File Sharing
Security :: Cryptography
Software Development :: Libraries :: Application Frameworks

About: GNUnet is a peer-to-peer framework with focus on providing
security. All peer-to-peer messages in the network are confidential and
authenticated. The framework provides a transport abstraction layer and
can currently encapsulate the network traffic in UDP (IPv4 and IPv6), TCP
(IPv4 and IPv6), HTTP, or SMTP messages. GNUnet supports accounting to
provide contributing nodes with better service. The primary service build
on top of the framework is anonymous file sharing.

Changes: This release adds support for non-anonymous downloads using
direct connections and a distributed hash table (DHT). Anonymous
file-sharing is still the default. Other noteworthy improvements include
support for namespaces to gnunet-gtk and visualization of previous
interactions with particular files (for example, showing whether a
download aborted or succeeded previously). The release also fixes various
bugs, including connectivity issues.

  Sun, Jun 17th 2007 13:42

Software Development :: Libraries
Software Development :: Libraries :: Application Frameworks
Software Development :: Libraries :: Java Libraries

About: Gochacha is a functional replacement for BeanUtils, allowing you to
manipulate beans using strings. Gochacha, however, is much simpler because
it takes advantage of Java 1.5 autoboxing. It also foregoes BeanUtils'
singleton 'registry' of transformers for a context-like approach where the
calling application manages state.

Changes: The performance test has been updated. This release builds
'buildable' archives, and includes support for primitive and complex
arrays.

[016] - HAproxy 1.3.12 (Development)
  by Willy Tarreau (http://freshmeat.net/users/wtarreau/)
  Sun, Jun 17th 2007 16:23

Internet :: WWW/HTTP
System :: Networking

About: HAproxy is a high-performance and highly-robust TCP/HTTP load
balancer which provides cookie-based persistence, advanced traffic
regulation with surge protection, automatic failover, run-time regex-based
header control, Web-based reporting, advanced logging to help
trouble-shooting buggy applications and/or networks, and a few other
features. Its own event-driven state machine achieves 10,000 hits per
second on modern hardware, even with tens of thousands of simultaneous
connections.

Changes: Content switching is now fully operational using ACLs. ACLs can
look for matches in path and headers in addition to previously supported
criteria. Integer comparison is now supported for header values. 15
pre-defined ACLs are provided. Error pages can be customized using
external files. Several bugs have been fixed. This version will be
maintained as a stable one during further development.

About: jVLT is a vocabulary learning tool. Examples containing one or many
of the vocabulary words may be specified. jVLT also can perform quizzes,
querying only those words which you frequently did not know in the past or
which have not been queried for a long time. During a quiz, jVLT shows the
examples of each word, letting you better memorize its usage.

Changes: Compared with the last stable release, this release offers the
ability to store filters and brings an improved import dialog that allows
you to specify examples in the imported CSV file. In comparison with the
latest development release, a few bugs were fixed, and the documentation
and German translation  were updated.

Software Development
Software Development :: Build Tools
System

About: Logapp is a wrapper utility that helps supervise the execution of
applications that produce heavy console output (e.g. make, CVS, and
Subversion). It does this by logging, trimming, and coloring each line of
the output before displaying it. It can be called instead of the
executable that should be monitored; it then starts the application and
logs all of its console output to a file. The output shown in the terminal
is preprocessed, e.g. to limit the length of printed lines and to show the
stderr output in a different color. It is also possible to automatically
highlight lines that match a certain regular expression. The output is
therefore reduced to the necessary amount, and all important lines are
easy to identify.

Changes: This is mainly a cleanup release. The only new feature is
timeout-based line joining when working with streams that are not
received in line-by-line packages.

  Sun, Jun 17th 2007 05:34

Information Management :: Metadata/Semantic Models
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Browsers
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Indexing/Search

About: SRESI is a smart bookmark manager. It currently sports both a
command-line and a PHP interface. It works with both the standard
hierarchical trees and the new and fashionable tagged bookmarks. It was
developed as a way to interface both representation systems. SRESI can use
Del.icio.us, Mozilla, Opera, and XBEL bookmarks, and handles a few more
exports besides. Directories and tags are used equivalently, and the final
hierarchies are inferred from actual tag use.

Changes: Tree generation in a cloud uses hints correctly. The
HTML+JavaScript output uses Torisugari's simpler and faster JavaScript
again. Hint parents are now integrated directly into the relevant
bookmarks. The Hint.database interface was massively reworked.

  Sun, Jun 17th 2007 13:37

System :: Monitoring
System :: Systems Administration
Utilities

About: System Configuration Collector (SCC) is yet another configuration
collector. It consists of a client and a server part. The client collects
configuration data in a structured snapshot, compares the new snapshot
with the previous one, and adds differences to a logbook. Then the
snapshot and the logbook are converted to HTML for local inspection.
Optionally, the data can be sent to a system running the server software.
On the server, summaries of the data are generated, and search/compare
operations on the snapshots and logbooks are available via a Web
interface.

Changes: Several changes for distributions using busybox. Tags have been
added to tables and style.css. A -u option has been added to scc to allow
non-root users to pull files to a server. dmidecode is used to determine
the model of Linux systems. pkg_info is skipped during installation on
BSD systems. Correction for multiple instances of Apache on a single
system. A package for puppylinux has been added.

About: System Configuration Collector Server generates summaries of
scc-data sent by clients. It offers a Web interface that supports
searching the snapshots and the logbooks of the systems. It also supports
comparing (parts of) the snapshots of systems.

Changes: This release uses CSS directives to indicate different colors
when comparing data from systems. It handles the case of an empty
log.html when sort is implemented by busybox. stdout and stderr are
recorded from client runs in the log file when started by scc-pull. A
