Communications :: Email :: Email Clients (MUA)
Communications :: Email :: Post-Office :: IMAP

About: AlphaMail is a mod_perl webmail system with a C++ middleware
component that is intended to make the system highly scalable. It supports
many Unix variants with any RFC-compliant IMAP server (including UW, Cyrus,
and Dovecot).

Changes: An updated admin guide. The ability to better customize the login
page (header and footer HTML can now be added). A bug with SAPMConfig has
been fixed (not creating a Spamassassin prefs file).

  by imipak (http://freshmeat.net/users/imipak/)
  Mon, Jul 2nd 2007 11:05

Scientific/Engineering :: Mathematics
Software Development :: Libraries

About: The ATLAS (Automatically Tuned Linear Algebra Software) project is
an ongoing research effort focusing on applying empirical techniques in
order to provide portable performance. It provides C and Fortran77
interfaces to a portably efficient BLAS implementation, as well as a few
routines from LAPACK.

Changes: Support for POWER4/Linux/gcc4 and POWER5/Linux/gcc. No AIX or XLC
support yet. Single precision performance is bad due to lack of assembly
kernel and gcc4 issues. Arch definitions for P432SSE2 have been fixed.
There is a faster gemm kernel for single precision on 64-bit Core2Duo.
Basic installation using GNU compilers now works on Windows/Cygwin.

Multimedia :: Video :: Non-Linear Editor

About: Avidemux is a graphical tool to edit videos. It can open AVI,
openDML, MPEG, Nuppelvideo, and BMPs. Most common codecs are supported
(M-JPEG, MPEG, DivX, Xvid, huffyuv, WMA, etc.) thanks to libavcodec and
libmpeg2. Video can be edited, cut, appended, filtered
(resize/crop/denoise), and re-encoded to either AVI (MPEG4/MJPEG) or MPEG
1/2. The Spidermonkey Javascript engine is used to give powerful scripting
capabilities.

Changes: MKV and FLV read support were added. A major UI cleanup was done.
Many bugs were fixed.

Information Management
Multimedia :: Graphics
Office/Business

About: Barcode Writer in Pure Postscript implements the printing of many
barcode formats entirely within level 2 PostScript, so that the process of
converting the input string into the printed output is performed by the
printer itself. This avoids the need to re-implement the barcode
generation process whenever your language needs change. The project
supports most major barcode formats including EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E,
ISBN, Code 128 (A, B, and C), Code 39, Interleaved 2 of 5, Postnet, Code 2
of 5, and Codabar.

Changes: Support for the MaxiCode 2D barcode was added.

About: Flagpoll is a tool for developers to use meta-data files for
storing information on what is needed to compile their software. Think of
it as the rpm of software development. It provides developers with total
control over which packages, versions, architectures, et cetera that they
want to use meta-data from. Instead of specifying other packages' cflags
and ldflag manually, you can call `flagpoll mylib --cflags --ldflags` and
it will retrieve the flags for its package as well as its dependencies.

  Mon, Jul 2nd 2007 03:09

Software Development :: Quality Assurance
Software Development :: Testing

About: The Linux Test Project is a joint project with SGI, IBM, OSDL,
Bull, and Wipro Technologies with a goal to deliver test suites to the
open source community that validate the reliability, robustness, and
stability of Linux. The project consists of well over 2000 individual
testcases and a test driver to automate execution of the tests.

Changes: OPEN_HPI_TESTSUITE was updated to version 2.9.2. The "writev06"
testcase was added to check for "fault in pages readable" functionality.
"SYSVIPC (containers)" testcases were added. The KDUMP and UTSNAMESPACE
testcases are more matured. The "fsx-linux" testcase was updated to
include new features, including "Distributed filesystem coherency".

[031] - Open Blue Lab Stocks Managing for Industry 1.1.10

Office/Business :: Financial :: Accounting
Office/Business :: Groupware

About: Open Blue Lab is a modular ERP, built on a plugin architecture.
Each business domain (such as Groupware, Financial, HCM, PLM, or SCM) is
separated into subdomains which are implemented through plugins. This
architecture permits you to choose only the components that suit your
needs. Each plugin is certified Zero Code, configurable through a GUI, and
may be adapted through the UML models provided.

Changes: An Indicator class has been added that allows the user to set
management parameters for a product: stock max, stock min, max value, and
min value. Good stock management is when you are almost out of stock most
of the time, so you earn money from having no stocking fee and a good
stock ratio. Setting these parameters will help the system to warn you or
give you statistical data on how you manage your stock and where you
should increase control.
