[006] - Bitgate Server Software Environment 0.4.1
by Ken Hollis (http://freshmeat.net/users/Tsuichi1/)
Fri, Jul 13th 2007 13:43
Internet
About: Bitgate Server Software Environment aims to build a multi-protocol
environment in which server protocol handlers can be eventually loaded and
unloaded on the fly using a center console or controller Web page. It aims
to have 99.9% uptime, and have high-availability (Java 6) compliance. It

adding tracks to the front of the playlist queue. The playlist keybinding
"Alt+q" was added for clearing the queue. Album covers fetched from Amazon
are now cached. Relative paths in playlist URIs now work. The Gajim status
plugin talks directly with the Gajim DBus service rather than through the
shell, which fixes the problem encoding "♫". A playlist name is now
exported correctly.

[033] - Moosic 1.5.4
by Daniel Pearson (http://freshmeat.net/users/danielpearson/)
Fri, Jul 13th 2007 10:09
Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: Players
About: Moosic is a music player that focuses on easy playlist management.
It consists of a server process that maintains a queue of music files to
play and a client program which sends commands to the server. The server
continually runs through its playlist, popping items off the top of the
list and playing each with an external program. The client is a simple
command-line utility which allows you to perform powerful operations upon
the server's queue, including the addition of whole directory trees,
automatic shuffling, and item removal according to regular expressions.
The server comes configured to play MP3, Ogg, MIDI, MOD, and WAV files.
Changes: An incompatibility that prevented moosicd from responding to
requests correctly when run with Python 2.5 was fixed. Another obscure and
rarely triggered bug was fixed.

[036] - PHD Help Desk 1.3
by J. Tuozzo (http://freshmeat.net/users/jtuozzo/)
Fri, Jul 13th 2007 01:53
Information Management :: Issue Tracking
About: PHD Help Desk is software conceived for the registry and follow-up
of help desks incidents. Registry of incidents allows classification in
two levels (type and subtype), the state of the incident, a description,
ticket assignment and priority, historical registry, and an audit.
Information can be reported in consultation format, to give reports or
export the information for later processing in a database or spreadsheet.
Changes: Now the operators belong to a sector, in the same way that the
users belong an area. The database update proccess will insert the sector
table with the areas that belong to the operators in version 1.21. The
ticket is now initialized as "private" by default. Only the operators can
change this state. Two bugs in the support request that prevented the
input of the request into the ticket database were corrected.

[039] - rsyslog 1.16.0 (Development)
by Rainer Gerhards (http://freshmeat.net/users/rgerhards/)
Fri, Jul 13th 2007 10:23
System :: Logging
About: Rsyslog is an enhanced multi-threaded syslogd. Among other
features, it offers support for reliable syslog over TCP and RFC 3195,
writing to MySQL databases, fully configurable output formats (including
great timestamps), the ability to filter on any part of the syslog
message, and on-the-wire message compression. It is designed as a drop-in
replacement for stock syslogd and thus is able to work with the same
configuration file syntax. Of course, some enhanced features require
changing the configuration file, but in general, this should be fairly
easy.
Changes: The build system was converted to GNU autotools. New properties
have been added, and the command line option "-x" can now be used to
disable DNS lookups. There are also some bugfixes and optimizations. Code
restructuring has begun in an effort to provide better modularization for
rsyslogd. Users experiencing problems fixed are advised to update. Others
may do so to enjoy the benefits of the new build environment.

Information Management
About: Scalable OpenGroupware.org (SOGo) is a project derived from
OpenGroupware.Org (OGo) with scalability in mind. The Inverse edition of
this project has many feature enhancements: CalDAV and GroupDAV
compliance, full handling of vCard as well as vCalendar/iCalendar
formats, and support for folder sharing and ACLs. The Web interface has
been rewritten in an AJAX fashion to provided a faster UI for the users,
consistency in look and feel with the Mozilla applications, and to reduce
the load of the transactions on the server.
Changes: A superuser can be defined. The raw message source can be viewed.
Compatibility was checked with PostgreSQL 8.2. The menus of the Web date
selector would no longer appear. An SQL constraint violation would prevent
task entries from being recorded. The due date in tasks was incorrectly
set. It was impossible to empty the start and the due date in the task
editor from the moment they were set. IMAP folders with non-ASCII
characters can now be accessed. The quotas of the selected mailbox are
displayed (if available). Users were prevented from accessing shared
resources in DAV.
