About: Connect Daily, a Web-based calendaring system, allows multiple
users to add and edit calendar events using a Web browser. The calendar
display can be directly integrated into your Web site. It provides
advanced capabilities for managing resources and facilities. It supports
event download to MS Outlook and Palm OS PDAs. Export to iCal clients like

at one time, including calendars, item types, and resources. In addition
to "search", this feature allows creation of ad-hoc combinations of
calendars on the fly. There are additional fields in the RSS feed,
including event end time, contact name, etc. Custom fields are now
included in the List View and Week View when they are displayed inline. 15
small bugs have been fixed.

  Wed, Jul 18th 2007 16:28

Communications
Database
Information Management :: Workflow Frameworks

About: Jitterbit is an integration tool for designing, configuring,
testing, and deploying integration solutions. It supports many document
types and most standards-based protocols, including XML, Web Services,
popular databases, text files, FTP, HTTP, and others. The integration
server runs on both Windows and Linux and is configured using a Java-based
user interface that is designed to make integration quick, easy, and
intuitive to complete. With the UI, users can define their integration
operations from start to finish: adding source and target systems, using
drag-and-drop mapping to transform data, setting schedules, creating
success/failure events, and tracking all of their deployed integration
operations.

Changes: A global data element replacement for flat database source and
hierarchical targets. Backslash characters were not handled in formula
builder strings. NullableException during deploy for some WSDL files that
do not define Body Use. Improved Process Engine performance. Some
additional profile logging in the process engine. An option to disable the
transaction in writing to a db target. A problem with parsing some
RPC/encoded WSDLs (WSDL Not Importing Properly - Error) has been fixed.

Office/Business
Office/Business :: Financial :: Accounting
Office/Business :: Groupware

About: Open Blue Lab is a modular ERP, built on a plugin architecture.
Each business domain (such as Groupware, Financial, HCM, PLM, or SCM) is
separated into subdomains which are implemented through plugins. This
architecture permits you to choose only the components that suit your
needs. Each plugin is certified Zero Code, configurable through a GUI, and
may be adapted through the UML models provided.

Changes: Java code is now generated by the plugin. The option to generate
Java was added to the contextual menu of an OBL file. This generation
exports all classes in a folder named "src" at the same level as the
model. This generation uses the technology provided by Acceleo. The second
feature is the integration of the ATL transformation to UML1. Now you can
directly and automatically transform your OBL files to UML files. Your
Eclipse installation must now include ATL.

Software Development :: Libraries

About: The OS Independent Atomic Operations Project intends to develop an
OS-independent atomic operations macro library with a common API for the C
programming language as a cross-platform alternative to the uncoordinated
efforts by OS developers. An initial revision of the API is available.
This project needs contributors with inline assembly skills for various
CPU architectures to help complete the macro library.

[028] - pure::variants 2.4.1 (Community Edition)
  by pure-systems (http://freshmeat.net/users/puresystems/)
  Wed, Jul 18th 2007 10:18

Software Development

About: The pure::variants Eclipse plugin supports development and variant
management for software product lines with many product variants.
pure::variants is completely model-based. It uses feature models for
variability and commonality modeling. It supports creation, management,
and evaluation of all necessary models, and uses XML based data formats.
It includes a model transformer, which permits the creation of product
variants directly from customizable components.

Changes: This service release contains mainly minor bugfixes. Among the
fixed problems are the loading of filters and layouts created with
pure::variants 2.2 and a problem with elements without unique names when
cloning VDMs.

[030] - QjackCtl 0.3.1
  by Rui Nuno Capela (http://freshmeat.net/users/rncbc/)
  Wed, Jul 18th 2007 13:53

Multimedia :: Sound/Audio

About: QjackCtl is a simple Qt application to control the JACK sound
server daemon, specifically for the Linux Audio Desktop infrastructure. It
is written in C++ around the Qt4 toolkit for X11, most exclusively using Qt
Designer. It provides a simple GUI dialog for setting several JACK daemon
parameters, which are properly saved between sessions, and a way to
control of the status of the audio server daemon. With time, this
primordial interface has become richer by including an enhanced patchbay
and connection control features.

Changes: DSP load percentage is now displayed on the system tray icon
tooltip. A Connections/Patchbay tooltip crash has been fixed. The system
tray option is now featured on most platforms, including Windows and Mac
OS X. QProcess class usage has been refactored, giving tighter control
over the jackd(mp) process. The downside is the ability to leave the
process detached upon quitting was lost. The RT indicator now blinks when
started/active. Combo box history persistence has been corrected.
Experimental support for jackdmp on Win32. All connections items are now
naturally sorted in ascending order by default.

[032] - Rats! 1.12.0
  by Robert Grimm (http://freshmeat.net/users/rgrimmm/)
  Wed, Jul 18th 2007 13:55

Software Development :: Code Generators
Software Development :: Compilers

About: Rats! is a parser generator for C-like languages (though currently
it only generates parsers in Java). It has been designed so that grammars
are concise and easily extensible. To this end, grammars are organized
into modules that can be easily changed by adding, removing, or modifying
alternatives in individual productions and composed with each other
through module parameters. Furthermore, it relies on ordered choices to
avoid ambiguities, supports syntactic predicates for unlimited lookahead,
and integrates lexing with parsing. Finally, it has extensive support for
automatically generating abstract syntax trees, thus greatly reducing the
need for explicit semantic actions.

Changes: Release highlights are support for formatting-preserving source
refactorings through parse trees, support for parsing and pretty printing
Java 5, (an improved abstract syntax tree for Java, and improved support
for type checking C and Java ASTs.

[037] - StreamCruncher 2.1 Release Candidate
  by Ashwin Jayaprakash (http://freshmeat.net/users/AshwinJ/)
  Wed, Jul 18th 2007 07:57

Database :: Database Engines/Servers
Software Development :: Libraries :: Java Libraries
System :: Monitoring

About: StreamCruncher is an event processor. It supports a language based
on SQL that allows you to define "event processing" constructs like
sliding windows, time-based windows, partitions, and aggregates. Such
constructs allow for the specification of boundaries (some are time
sensitive) on a stream of events that SQL does not provide. Queries can be
written using this language, which in turn can be used to monitor streams
of incoming events. It also provides a feature similar to materialized
views. Joins and sub-queries are also supported to allow event
co-relation. A database is used underneath to do the heavy lifting.
Pattern matching or multi-stream correlation are also possible.

Changes: The pre-filter for input event streams now supports <, >, !=, =,
*, /, +, -, "in (..)", "not in (..)", "and", and "or". The "in" clause can
refer to an SQL sub-query. Such sub-queries are cached by the kernel to
improve performance. An additional property, cacherefresh.threads.num, can
be configured to specify the number of sub-query cache processing threads
to use. Two new test cases have been added to test the new features:
H2StartupShutdown3Test and ThreeEventOrderTest.

mega-framework in Python. It is built from four core projects and several
other packages to provide a powerful set of tools for building modern Web
applications.

Changes: Much better on-line documentation was provided.
Internationalization is now also available for the JavaScript files. When
using SAprovider for identity management, passwords are now encrypted on
the fly if a identity.saprovider.encryption_algorithm is set to 'md5' or
'sha1' in app.conf. An alternative quick-start model that uses Elixir
(using -e switch) is proposed. A similar one will become the default in
1.1.
