Software Development :: Version Control
Software Development :: Version Control :: Subversion

About: Bazaar Subversion Plugin is a Bazaar plugin that adds support for
foreign Subversion repositories. This allows committing changes to
Subversion branches as if they were native Bazaar branches.

Changes: A major bug that prevented some HTTP repositories from being
accessed has been fixed. Revisions that merged revisions already in
Subversion can now be pushed correctly. Several other smaller bugs have
been fixed.

[003] - CacheGuard OS 5.0.0b
  by Afshin Tajvidi (http://freshmeat.net/users/tajflow/)
  Sun, Sep 9th 2007 09:04

Internet :: Proxy Servers
Internet :: WWW/HTTP
Security

About: CacheGuard is a Linux-based operating system dedicated to Web
traffic control and optimization. It transforms an x86-based machine into
a powerful, Web gateway appliance. It allows you to secure Web traffic for
Web surfers and Web servers by acting as a forwarding and reverse HTTP /
HTTPS proxy. It supports HTTP transparent implementation, HTTP
compression, Web caching, URL black- and whitelist guarding, and Web
server load balancing. It features a stateful firewall with NAT and PAT,
and a content filtering module blocking malicious HTTP requests like XSS,
SQL and Command Injection. It integrates a caching DNS, a DHCP server, a
bandwidth shaper to manage the QoS, a load sharing system, and an HA (high
availability) mode with VRRP and link bonding.

Changes: The content filtering mode is operational. When the "filter" and
"rweb" mode are activated, requests on protected Web sites are filtered
for generic attacks (XSS, SQL injection, etc.). The content filtering is
hardened for the Web GUI. The configuration is properly saved for backend
servers associated with a Web site. Guard categories are created even if
the "guard" mode is deactivated. Guards black an white lists are loaded
properly. Setting VRRP in the Web GUI works correctly.

[006] - CellWriter 1.0.4
  by Risujin (http://freshmeat.net/users/Risujin/)
  Sun, Sep 9th 2007 12:14

Adaptive Technologies
Scientific/Engineering :: Artificial Intelligence
Scientific/Engineering :: Image Recognition

About: CellWriter is a grid-entry natural handwriting input panel. As you
write characters into the cells, your writing is instantly recognized at
the character level. When you press 'Enter' on the panel, the input you
entered is sent to the currently focused application as if typed on the
keyboard. Writer-dependent, CellWriter learns your handwriting for
reliable recognition. Correcting preprocessor algorithms account for
digitizer noise, differing stroke order, direction, and number of strokes.
Unicode support enables you to write in any language.

Changes: This release resolves a show-stopping issue with extended input
events that prevented some users from being able to write in the cells.

[007] - Chiron FS 1.0RC5
  by Luis Otávio Furquim (http://freshmeat.net/users/vuco/)
  Sun, Sep 9th 2007 23:21

System :: Archiving :: Mirroring
System :: Clustering/Distributed Networks
System :: Filesystems

About: Chiron FS is a FUSE based filesystem that implements replication at
the filesystem level like RAID 1 does at the device level. The replicated
filesystem may be of any kind you want; the only requisite is that you
mount it. There is no need for special configuration files; the setup is
as simple as one mount command (or one line in fstab).

Changes: A problem with mknod was fixed. A mismatch in the readdir
function when testing if the replica is disabled was fixed. It was using a
wrong index variable. Lock control and reopening of the log file were
added, so when you logrotate there will be no need to restart (remount)
ChironFS. ChironFS now automatically calls FUSE using the direct_io option
to avoid redundant disk caching.

  Sun, Sep 9th 2007 09:01

Multimedia :: Video :: Conversion

About: DeVeDe is a program to create video DVDs (compatible with home
players) from nearly any video format. It only uses Python 2.4, MPlayer,
Mencoder, DVDAuthor, VCDImager, and mkisofs, so it has very few
dependencies.

Changes: Some problems under Windows have been fixed. This release returns
to the main window after creating the disk. When opening the file selector,
it filters the files by type, showing only the videos. When using the NEW
menu option to clean the disk structure and start again, it asks the disk
type again. When loading a disk structure, if the disk type is different
than the current selected, this release automatically changes to the new
type. A second major code refactorization to improve maintainability has
been done. The license has changed to the GPL version 3.

[033] - MIB Smithy 4.0.7
  by Muonics (http://freshmeat.net/users/muonics/)
  Sun, Sep 9th 2007 22:29

Software Development :: Code Generators
Software Development :: Compilers
System :: Networking

About: MIB Smithy is an application for SNMP and COPS developers, MIB and
PIB designers, and Internet-draft authors. It provides a GUI-based
environment for designing, editing, and compiling MIB and PIB modules
according to the SMIv1, SMIv2, and COPS-PR-SPPI standards. It accelerates
the development process by providing an easy-to-use GUI-based environment
for developing the specifications without the syntax and formatting
concerns of editing the modules by hand. It includes a number of built-in
basic SNMP management tools, XML support, and (with MIB Smithy
Professional) support for custom compiler output formats.

Changes: An error could occur when previewing a single OBJECT-TYPE in SMI
format (as opposed to previewing the whole module).

[034] - MIB Smithy SDK 3.4.3
  by Muonics (http://freshmeat.net/users/muonics/)
  Sun, Sep 9th 2007 22:29

Software Development :: Code Generators
Software Development :: Compilers
Software Development :: Libraries :: Tcl Extensions

About: MIB Smithy SDK is a dynamic extension to Tcl/Tk (8.1+) that allows
development of custom scripts for controlling SNMP agents, manipulating
SMI definitions, doing conversions, and more. It is based on the core of
Muonics' MIB Smithy, and the SDK supports SMIv1 and SMIv2, as well as
SNMPv1/v2c/v3 with HMAC-SHA-96 and HMAC-MD5-96 authentication and CBC-DES
privacy. It also provides complete read-write access to all elements of
SMI/MIB Module definitions, unlike similar extensions that provide only
read access to a limited subset. The SDK allows multiple discrete SMI
databases and SNMP sessions, and provides all of the built-in validation
and error recovery capabilites of the full product, without the visual MIB
development environment.

Changes: NLs and CRs in OCTET STRING varbind values were forcing
conversion to hex as if they were non-printable characters. The Tnm::snmp
notifier command was added to the Scotty compatibility wrapper. A crash
could occur at startup with a bad SMITHY_LICENSE_FILE path. License errors
are now returned as normal Tcl error results rather than printed to stdout.

Software Development :: Compilers
Software Development :: Interpreters

About: Seed7 is a general purpose programming language. It is a higher
level language compared to Ada, C++, and Java. In Seed7, new statements
and operators can be declared easily. Functions with type results and type
parameters are more elegant than a template or generics concept. Object
orientation is used when it brings advantages and not in places when other
solutions are more obvious. Although Seed7 contains several concepts of
other programming languages, it is generally not considered as a direct
descendant of any other programming language.

Changes: A gtk-server connection library (gtkserver.s7i), a test program
(gtksvtst.sd7), and documentation (see doc/gtksvdoc.txt) were added. Some
spelling corrections for read_me and a draft for a Cygwin makefile

  Sun, Sep 9th 2007 09:05

Database :: API
Office/Business :: Financial :: Investment

About: The trading-shim is a database driven connector API that provides a
persistent store SQL backend database, translates operations to and from
the Interactive Brokers Java TWS API. It can act as an interpreter for
commands, and permits downstream clients to access several worldwide
securities markets and exchanges (stocks, options, futures, bonds, Forex)
for "tick" data and history (intraday, and EoD). It also allows clients to
supervise trades of securities and more.

Changes: This release merges OS X PPC and x86 lines in the external
release, adds architecture-sensitive logic to build the clock timer header
file for Mac OS X PPC and x86_64 as well as i386, modifies much of the
error trace output to use cerr in place of stderr in order to avoid format
string integral-type word length problems between x86 and PPC, changes the
symbol SUNW to JAVA, adds a few symbols for slightly better European
coverage, and rate-limits history queries to at most one every 10 seconds.

[054] - Units of measurement for Ada 2.5
  by Dmitry Kazakov (http://freshmeat.net/users/kazakov/)
  Sun, Sep 9th 2007 12:13

Scientific/Engineering

About: The library provides an implementation of dimensioned values for
Ada. Unit checks are made at run-time, if not optimized out by the
compiler. SI and irregular measurement units are supported. Shifted units
like degrees Celsius are supported too. Conversions from and back to
strings are provided for all various irregular units. An extensive set of
GTK widgets for dealing with dimensioned values is included, though use of
GTK is not mandatory for the rest of the library.

Changes: The procedure Get was added for parsing measures in the form of a
numeral multiplied by dimensioned scale. The syntax of the input is the
same as in other procedures. When possible, this procedure tries to
extract the numeral part and the scale. It also determines whether the
input has any dimension in it.
