footprint, it supports secure SSL connections (HTTPS), CGI/FastCGI, ISAPI
extensions, server-side includes (SSI), download resuming, caching
negotiation, logging, custom error pages, password protection, IP address
control, URL rewriting, aliases, custom MIME types, index files, custom
directory listings, anti-leeching, and bandwidth throttling. It also
features an automatic anti-hacking system and an intuitive multilingual
remote Web management interface.

Changes: This version adds secure SSL/TLS connections (HTTPS) support and
an integrated interface to manage, import, self-sign, and request the
signature of SSL certificates.

applications. Its goal is to support multiple platforms (Linux/Windows)
and multiple compiler vendors (Novell/Microsoft).

Changes: This minor release adds support for unit testing with NUnit and
for signing of assemblies.

Database
Database :: Database Engines/Servers
Database :: Front-Ends

About: Cego implements a relational and transactional database system with
support for the SQL query language. The current release contains the most
common database features for basic table manipulation and data retrieval.
Indexes, foreign keys, views, and stored procedures are also implemented.
Future releases (2.0 and above) will support a multi-node database concept
with log file shipping for an automatic database application failover.

Changes: The elimination of several small memory leaks and improvements
for transaction handling and stored procedures.

System :: Archiving :: Backup
System :: Archiving :: Mirroring

About: Clonezilla is a partition or disk cloning tool similar to Symantec
Ghost. It saves and restores only blocks in use on the hard drive if the
file system is supported. For unsupported file systems, dd is used
instead. It has been used to clone a 5 GB system to 40 clients in about 10
minutes.

Changes: Some new features were added, including support for the cciss
device (including Compaq's SMART Array Controllers). Symbolic links to
image files are now supported. -o0 and -o1 options were added to ocs-sr.
pcmciautils, ncpfs, dvd+rw-tools, and udftools packages were added, a TUI
network config program was added, and some bugs were fixed.

[006] - Diogene87 1.0.0rc4
  by Zionly (http://freshmeat.net/users/zionly/)
  Sat, Sep 22nd 2007 02:21

System :: Systems Administration

About: Diogene87 is a powerful job scheduling system. It features
centralized management, jobs dependencies, start conditions, planning, a
log of job activity, job monitoring, statistics for job durations, and
resource control.

Changes: A new 'rjd' (Referential Job Duplicate) function can be used to
copy a job in the same task (with another name) or in another task.
Solaris support was added. A core dump that occurred when a job could not
be started was fixed. An issue where the number of opened pipes increased
indefinitely every time a job was sent was fixed. An explicit error
message is displayed when a file can't be opened to ask the user to check
the file's owner and permissions.

[007] - DKMS 2.0.17.4
  by Matt Domsch (http://freshmeat.net/users/mdomsch/)
  Sat, Sep 22nd 2007 00:54

System :: Systems Administration

About: DKMS (Dynamic Kernel Module Support) is a framework where device
driver source can reside outside the kernel source tree so that it is very
easy to rebuild modules as you upgrade kernels. This allows Linux vendors
to provide driver drops without having to wait for new kernel releases (as
a stopgap before the code can make it back into the kernel), while also
taking out the guesswork for customers attempting to recompile modules for
new kernels. For veteran Linux users it also provides some advantages since
a separate framework for driver drops will remove kernel releases as a
blocking mechanism for distributing code.

Changes: An issue where installs during --rpm_safe_upgrade could
incorrectly fail was fixed. SLES10 driver disk creation was broken (and
may still be). Ubuntu packaging and a mkdeb command (which has been
accepted into Ubuntu Universe for Gutsy) were provided. mkrpm now adds
automatic Provides: lines with modalias info. This will eventually be used
to automatically download drivers that match the hardware you have in your
system.

Communications :: Email
Communications :: Email :: Filters
Internet

About: DynaStop is a utility to examine IPv4 based addresses for Exim and
procmail for the purpose of filtering based upon patterns defined by the
administrator. This can be a pivotal factor in email filtering and server
load management, since dynamic IP addresses are typically used for
dial-up, DHCP, and DSL accounts. All of which have a designated mail
exchange server through which all outbound mail flows as defined with
many, if not most, large Internet service providers.

Changes: DynaTest now outputs all data to the console and no longer uses
the DynaStop log file. More code clean up was done. The example
configuration files were updated.

Scientific/Engineering :: Artificial Intelligence

About: FET (free timetabling tool) automatically schedules the timetable
of a school, high school, or university. It aims to have the same
functionality as expensive scheduling programs.

Changes: The maximum hours daily for teachers and students can now have
any weight percentage. Teacher minimum daily hours are now constrained. A
crash bug when using a teacher's max gaps for only some of the teachers
was fixed.

Scientific/Engineering :: Mathematics
Scientific/Engineering :: Physics

About: jHepWork is a full-featured object-oriented data analysis framework
for scientists. Jython macros are used to plot data, 1D and 2D histograms,
perform fit, etc. The program includes many tools for interactive
scientific plots in 2D and 3D. Data structures and data manipulation
methods integrated with Java and JAIDA classes combines remarkable power
with a very clear syntax. Programs written with jHepWork are usually very
short due to high-level constructs.

Changes: This version is based on jython2.2. A new jython console was
added, and many improvements were made in jHepWork IDE. The classes were
updated for jHPlot histogramming. The shplot package was added for easy
scripting using jython classes. The documentation was updated.
