[001] - AgileWiki 0.6 (COODBMS)
by Bill la Forge (http://freshmeat.net/users/laforge49/)
Fri, Feb 8th 2008 09:44
Database
Documentation
Information Management
About: AgileWiki is a program that explores new knowledge representation.
It is an attempt to implement, at least in part, Norm Kashdan's Rolonic
Theory, a profoundly different approach to time and knowledge
representation. CowDb is a high-speed object store over which the next
generation of AgileWiki will be written. COODBMS is a Copy-on-write OODBMS
based on Rolonics.
Changes: COODBMS has been reintentioned to fully implement Rolons.
Transactions are now logged and an XML scripting language, RoleML, is used
to define the behavior of a transaction rather than having numerous
transaction subclasses.

Internet
System :: Networking
About: Babel is a distance-vector routing protocol for IPv6 and IPv4. It
is designed to be robust and work efficiently on both wired networks and
wireless mesh networks.
Changes: This release fixes a bug that could cause routes to be spuriously
discarded in some cases. It improves the robustness of the IPv4 support by
checking for changes in IPv4 addresses, adds support for non-default
routing tables, and allows disabling a number of optimizations that do not
work on bridged interfaces.

[024] - ns4 4.0(6)
by Chris Mason (http://freshmeat.net/users/chrimaso/)
Fri, Feb 8th 2008 06:50
Utilities
About: ns4 is a configuration management tool which allows the automated
backup of just about anything, but it was designed for routers and
switches. If you are able to log into it through a CLI, you can back it
up. Commands are defined within a configuration file, and when they are
executed, the output is sent to a series of FTP servers for archiving. As
well as archiving configurations, it allows scripts to be run on nodes;
this allows configurations to be applied en masse and allows conditional
logic so different bits of scripts are run on different nodes.

System :: Networking
System :: Shells
About: NSH consolidates configuration for interfaces, bridging, routing,
PF packet filtering, NAT, queueing, BGP, OSPF, RIP, IPsec, DHCP, DVMRP,
SNMP, relayd, and NTP. It presents the user with a vaguely Cisco-like
interface with all configuration in one easy to read text list. It also
gives the user access to system information and diagnostics. NSH replaces
the userland commands that handle these functions, and talks directly to
the OpenBSD kernel (or to the control utilities for external managed
daemons.)
Changes: Full support was added for BGP, OSPF, RIP, IPsec, DHCP, DVMRP,
SNMP, NTP, relayd, and sasyncd. New support was added for route labels,
interface groups, group attributes, vlan priority, arp show, and arp set.
Significant code cleanup was done. Basic paging support was added for show

[029] - Pantheios 1.0.1 beta 97
by Dr Proctor (http://freshmeat.net/users/DrProctor/)
Fri, Feb 8th 2008 03:14
Software Development :: Libraries
System :: Logging
About: Pantheios is a C/C++ logging API library. It offers an optimal
combination of complete type-safety, very high efficiency, genericity, and
extensibility. It is simple to use and extend, highly portable (platform
and compiler independent), and it upholds the C tradition of only paying
for what you use. Pantheios supports logging of message statements of
arbitrary complexity, consisting of heterogenous types. Pantheios supports
filtering of log messages based on severity level.
Changes: The b64 library (version 1.2.5) is now bundled with Pantheios,
and the pantheios::b64 inserter class is built into the library. Some work
towards compatiblity with the Safe String library (e.g. with VC8+) was
carried out. A minor bug in the component test for the pantheios::threadId

effect. POMStrap uses Maven2 pom files to resolve dependencies required to
launch an application. For example, if your application depends on A-1.0
(and can only work with this version) and B-1.0; and if B-1.0 also depends
on A-2.0, then B-1.0's dependency won't normally be able to be satisfied
without violating another one of your application's dependencies. POMStrap
avoids this kind of dependency conflict.
Changes: This version handles POM properties in dependency building.

[035] - Roster-in-a-Box 1.2
by tavis (http://freshmeat.net/users/tavisbarr/)
Fri, Feb 8th 2008 13:03
Education :: Computer Aided Instruction (CAI)
About: Roster-in-a-Box is a course management system. It includes modules
for auto-graded course problems (currently for introductory statistics,
introductory microeconomics, and intermediate microeconomics), as well as
a mechanism for students to submit answers to text questions and have the
instructor grade them online. Summaries of student performance (such as
student problem areas or class averages by subject) are available to both
the instructor and the student in real time, and the system can send
reminders to students of late homework assignments.
Changes: Modules for introductory and intermediate microeconomics have
been added. The course administration module has been made prettier,
easier to use, and more idiot-proof. Security has been enhanced. Homework
assignment lists can now be backed up to disk and restored for use in a
future semester.

[036] - RWTH Mindstorms NXT Toolbox 1.0
by Graham (http://freshmeat.net/users/AndreBell/)
Fri, Feb 8th 2008 06:49
Education
About: RWTH Mindstorms NXT Toolbox controls LEGO Mindstorms NXT robots
with MATLAB via a wireless Bluetooth connection. The toolbox functions are
based on the LEGO Mindstorms NXT Bluetooth Communication Protocol to
control the intelligent NXT Brick via a wireless Bluetooth connection.
Although a Bluetooth connection is not recommended for realtime robot
control in general, because of its high latency, this toolbox provides
MATLAB functions to interact with a robot directly. The main advantage of
this remote control concept is that it enables users to combine robot
applications with complex mathematical operations and visualizations
within MATLAB.
