Information Management :: Issue Tracking
Software Development :: Bug Tracking

About: AgileTrack is an agile development planning and iteration tracking
tool. It assists in the creation and life-cycle of iterations, projects,
stories, tasks, and bugs. It is focused on simplicity and practicality. Its
interface is designed to be useful specifically for software developers on
small development teams with rapidly-changing priorities and requirements.
Its primary interface for developers is geared toward availability, speed,
and purpose. It is flexible and minimalistic with respect to the data that
is required for records. It is designed to be compatible with agile
development methodologies, particularly Extreme Programming.

Changes: This release fixes a lot of minor issues found in the last beta
release and adds a little bit of new functionality as well. Icons have been
added to lists throughout the application. Project trees are working
better. Time tracking has been fixed to update totals properly. Reporting
had been broken due to the new History records, but is now fixed. Issue
dependencies can now be entered. A new status bar has been added which
includes activity lights to show when the application is loading (blue) or
saving (green) data.

[007] - Asterisk 1.4.21.1 (Current)
  by imipak (http://freshmeat.net/users/imipak/)
  Wed, Jul 9th 2008 13:13

Communications :: Internet Phone
Communications :: Telephony
System :: Clustering/Distributed Networks

About: Asterisk is a hybrid TDM and packet voice PBX (Private Branch
eXchange) and IVR platform with ACD functionality. It acts as middleware
between the Internet (IAX, SIP, MGCP, Skinny, H.323), telephony channels
(like Zaptel, T1, PRI, E1, FXO, FXS, VoIP, VoFR, ISDN, modems, Internet
Phone Jack, etc.), and applications (like voice-mail, conferencing,
directories, MP3 players, intercoms, etc.). It has many advanced features
such as a codec translation API. The base distribution includes several
channel backends, as well as applications. However, the beauty of Asterisk
is its ability to be extended using its APIs, dynamic module loader, and
AGI scripting interface. End users can even write their own applications
that run on the system in C or any scripting language of their choice.

  Wed, Jul 9th 2008 13:23

Internet
Internet :: Name Service (DNS)
Software Development :: Libraries

About: Avahi is a framework for Multicast DNS Service Discovery
(mDNS/DNS-SD a.k.a. Zeroconf) on Linux. It allows programs to publish and
discover services running on a local network with no specific
configuration. For example, you can plug into a network and instantly find
printers to print to, files to look at, and people to talk to.

Changes: A lot of translation updates were made. bvnc was beefed up quite
a bit, including passing a domain in which to browse. The resource limit on
the number of open files was increased to 300 so that Avahi can deal with
more clients simultaneously. The "poof" algorithm was reworked a bit to
reduce traffic load on noisy links. Build bugs and warnings were fixed.
Assorted other minor updates were made.

[011] - cclib 0.9
  by Noel O'Boyle (http://freshmeat.net/users/baoilleach/)
  Wed, Jul 9th 2008 12:52

Scientific/Engineering :: Chemistry
Software Development :: Libraries :: Python Modules

About: cclib is a Python library for parsing and interpreting the results
of computational chemistry packages. It currently parses output files from
ADF, GAMESS (US), GAMESS-UK, Gaussian, Jaguar, and PC GAMESS. Among other
data, cclib extracts coordinates, atomic orbital information, molecular
orbital information, information on vibrational modes, and the results of a
TD-DFT calculation. cclib also provides some calculation methods for
interpreting some electronic properties of molecules using analyses such as
Mulliken population analysis, overlap population analysis, and calculation
of Mayer's bond orders.

Changes: cclib can now parse ORCA files. The option to use setuptools
instead of distutils.core for installing was added. Handling of CI and
TD-DFT data was improved: TD-DFT data extracted from GAMESS and etsecs was
standardized across all parsers. The test suite was changed to include
output from only the newest program versions. A small number of parsing
errors were fixed.

software architecture and relieves the developer from all the plumbing by
solving most of the technical concerns. Its philosophy extends the
"Convention over configuration" paradigm with a descriptive strategy made
of assembling built-in descriptors (Java beans). You describe what you want
to achieve and not how you want to achieve it.
