[022] - EzGallery 2.4.3
by Jakim Friant (http://freshmeat.net/users/jmodule/)
Wed, Dec 1st 2004 08:35
Internet :: WWW/HTTP
Multimedia :: Graphics
About: EzGallery was designed to quickly create and publish an HTML image
gallery. It is a GUI desktop application that was written for people who
want to publish a Web image gallery on a site that doesn't support PHP,
ASP, or CGI programs. It builds static pages that can be uploaded
("published") from within the program. It lets the user quickly create a
gallery project, add pictures, write captions and descriptions, pick
colors, and set the layout. Then, with a click of a button, it will create
the necessary thumbnails and HTML pages. It supports completely automated
uploading and updating of the gallery on a remote Web host.
Changes: The process of adding images was improved by using the new
wxWidgets ImageFinder dialog that displays a preview of the selected
picture. The only drawback is that it won't let you select multiple files,
so the old method is available as an option under the Gallery menu.

right-mouse popup menu functions Move/Copy/Link/Delete were not quite
working right when multiple files were selected. An overloaded setData()
function was added to FXImage, which changes the shape as well as the
contents of a client-side pixel buffer from a given pixel array.
FXFile::getUserDirectory() now uses %USERPROFILE%. Python and Makefile

Software Development :: Build Tools
System :: Installation/Setup
About: JExpress Professional lets you create multiplatform, multilingual
installers and auto-updaters. An easy-to-use Swing interface lets you
design your installers quickly without requiring any programming. You can
build a single installer for multiple products or install types. It allows
you to efficiently customize your installers using Java. JExpress
Professional goes beyond just building Java installations; it can also
select the exact classes your Java app uses, build your directory tree,
and produce JAR files. JExpress Professional can even use a sophisticated
algorithm to upload your software to your Web site without user
intervention. It can create native installers for Windows, Linux, Mac OS
X, and Solaris that install the JVM if it isn't already installed.
Changes: This version creates significantly smaller and faster installers,
typically with 10% to 40% reduction in space and time. Also, building
installers is much quicker. The JExpress Updater now updates itself, which
means that any new or modified custom classes for the Updater are
automatically distributed to your customers. Additional minor bugfixes and
enhancements were included.

by olicha (http://freshmeat.net/users/olicha/)
Wed, Dec 1st 2004 05:15
Desktop Environment
About: Metisse is an experimental X desktop with some OpenGL capacity. It
consists of a virtual X server called Xwnc, a special version of FVWM, and
a FVWM module FvwmAmetista. Xwnc is a mix of Xvnc and XDarwin. It draws
nothing on your screen; everything is drawn into pixmaps. Similarly to
Xvnc, but with a different protocol, Xwnc can send these pixmaps (and
other information) to a "viewer". FvwmAmetista is such a viewer; it uses
OpenGL for rendering the X desktop into a window of a "regular" 3D
accelerated X server.
Changes: A temporary lock with applications which draw a lot of disjoint
rectangles at once was fixed. A core dump caused by very big cursors was
fixed. FvwmAmetista configuration was improved. Handling of FVWM tips was
improved. X and Y rotations of windows were improved to respect pseudo-

[067] - Python Wrappers for Remote Access Tools 0.1.4
by Jonas Bardino (http://freshmeat.net/users/jonasfm/)

Internet
Software Development :: Libraries
Software Development :: Libraries :: Python Modules
About: pywrat (Python Wrappers for Remote Access Tools) is a set of
wrappers that can be used for accessing remote hosts. They use ssh and scp
for remote shell and file system access and can be used as a generalized
access method with a single configuration file for all host, user, and key
setups. The wrappers are intended to simplify remote access in shell
scripts, but it is also possible to use the wrapper modules directly from
Python programs.
Changes: This release adds support for environment setup and clean up for
all pywrat commands. That is particularly useful if pywrat is used in
combination with the "session multiplexing" feature available in OpenSSH
versions 3.9 and later. Then the environment setup can be used to make
sure that the master connection is available so that multiplexing can
continue.
