About: Barcode Writer in Pure Postscript implements the printing of many
barcode formats entirely within level 2 PostScript, so that the process of
converting the input string into the printed output is performed by the
printer itself. This avoids the need to re-implement the barcode
generation process whenever your language needs change. The project
supports most major barcode formats including EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E,
ISBN, Code 128-B, Code 39, Interleaved 2 of 5, Postnet, Code 2 of 5, and
Codabar.
Changes: This release fixes a bug in code128b where first ^ character in
string of available characters should be &.

allows one to specify a binary string (in hex) to search for and,
optionally, a binary string to replace it with. One can mask both search
and replace strings as one can mask an IP. It is handy for changing
broken user SID/RIDs in ntuser.dat files after you move a profile from
somewhere to somewhere else.

[017] - fff and ffl 1.04
by perdenab (http://freshmeat.net/users/perdenab/)
Fri, Dec 24th 2004 11:30
Utilities
About: fff and ffl are tools for searching for files and directories from
the Unix shell with more integrated "shell-like" behaviour and simpler
syntax than find(1), though find(1) is still used to perform the actual
searches. In particular, there is no need to quote wildcards, and searches
are case-insensitive. Matching results are shown one per line. fff displays
full paths, and ffl relative paths. Detailed find(1) options can be
appended to the fff/ffl command line if desired. These utilities are based
entirely on shell aliases and functions, so no compliation is required.
Changes: New (and hopefully clearer) documentation. rxp() now returns its
input data unchanged if it is found to already be in [regex] format.
Therefore, this release accepts [regex] search expressions (as it should
have from the start.)

use remote Web services like local objects. You can also create servers by

Fri, Dec 24th 2004 11:28
Multimedia :: Graphics :: Viewers
About: GLiv is an OpenGL image viewer. Image loading is done via
Gdk-pixbuf bundled with GTK+-2.4, rendering with OpenGL, and the graphical
user interface uses GTK+ with GtkGLExt. GLiv is very fast and smooth at
rotating, panning and zooming if you have an OpenGL accelerated graphics
board. It supports thumbnails and navigating through them using two images
menus.
Changes: Most options are now configurable only in the configuration file,
which can be specified on the command line. The Russian translation was
updated. There are German, French, and Russian manual pages. A new command
line option to add all files in the directory when loading a file was
added, as well as a preview to the open dialog. There is a new command
line option (-o) to directly save a collection. It is now possible to jump

About: Gnofract 4D is a Gnome-based program to draw fractals. What sets it

functions for them. New HyperMandel and HyperJulia fractal types were
added as examples.

by James A. Pattie (http://freshmeat.net/users/pcxuser/)
Fri, Dec 24th 2004 11:56
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content
About: The HTMLObject is a set of Perl modules that provides the ability
to create Dynamic HTML documents (Framesets, DHTML, etc.). You can
generate your code without having to do cookies first, then JavaScript,
then the body. As long as the content is output in the correct order, you
can generate JavaScript or cookies at any point since the output is not
sent to the server until you call the display() method. It attempts to
fully support HTML 4.x and XHTML. Helper methods are provided to do
cookies, URI encoding, etc. There is a Form processing module which will
generate the form, gather the input, and then validate the input,
re-displaying the form if errors are encountered with the invalid entries
marked as such.
Changes: The form generation code better handles checkboxes and can now
detect the initial display loop. Other changes and bugfixes were also

Higher numbers lead to combinatorial expansion of the 100% coverage

[070] - The Parma Polyhedra Library 0.7
by Roberto Bagnara (http://freshmeat.net/users/bagnara/)
Fri, Dec 24th 2004 14:42
Scientific/Engineering :: Mathematics
About: The Parma Polyhedra Library is user friendly, fully dynamic,
written in standard C++, exception-safe, efficient, and thoroughly
documented.
Changes: The library can now be configured to use checked native integers
(8, 16, 32, or 64 bits wide) as an alternative to the unbounded integer
coefficients provided by the GMP library. The checked integer coefficients
apply systematic and efficient overflow detection, raising an exception if
the computed value cannot be represented by the underlying type. As a
result, significant speedups can be obtained without compromising
correctness. This release contains many other improvements ranging from
major efficiency gains (for all configurations) to usability, portability,
and bugfixes.
