is this list alive?

I subscribed to this list last week to watch closely the development
of gentoo installer, but so far, it's dead.

I have some python and wxpython experience, and looking to learn pygtk
some time soon. I'm hardware engineer  by profession, (VHDL, Verilog,
...etc) but I also know many programming languages, few I've used
before are  C, C++, java, perl, pascal, VB, lisp, python

I don't have much time on my hands, but I could squeeze things here and there.

Anyone on this list can explain to me the framework of
gentoo-installer? is it based on some other work (anaconda, kudzu,
etc)
