I bought it at a trade show -- they had 2.4-M's at a reasonable price so I picked one up -- got the extra ram there at the same time. > Is that upgrade a significant improvement in performance? > I've noticed that anything less than 100% increase in speed is > hardly noticable anymore. > I think that the extra ram is more noticeable than the increase in processor speed -- I just did it since it was available and a good price. The main thing I've noticed is that at full processor speed my batteries drain faster .... Oh well. Depends on the application -- it does compile a bit faster, but for the most part you're right, if you don't wait your 18months, upgrading the processor tend sto be pointless. > How long does it take to burn a DVD? > About 45 minutes -- when I got the +/- DVDRW as a replacement part they "didn't know how fast it burned" -- I was hoping it'd be based on their new 4x's. It's just a -1x/+2x though, oh well... So 1hr for a FULL DVD. For DVD+RW it's about 30 minutes. Ah well, J/
