Well .. I recently put 8.2 on my Vaio (U1) and ACPI is not working. There's no battery info, no thermal info and the internal loudspeaker no longer works. The U1 uses a Crusoe, and longrun no longer works. Also, there was an issue with the sonypi driver and sjog (or sjog like programs), but that was easily fixable - once you find the solution. That said, everything else worked out of the box ;-) sjb p.s. If anybody out there's running 8.2 on a U1/3 and has managed to compile and use an ACPI enabled kernel, please let me know!!
