Personally, I own (or have owned) quite a few laptops, and the only one 
that ever gave me any problems was a cheapo "own brand" from one of the 
big High Street chains. My Toshiba, Artist and Sonys have never missed a 
beat, and I use them a lot.

My only grumble with Sony is that they wouldn't let me register my 
camera, mp3 walkman or Vaio in the UK because I'd bought the items in 
Japan - but I knew that when I bought them.
