Hi Manuel (tocayo!!),

For the sound card, check the mixer (try alsamixer in a terminal). Check
that everything is on and full volume. Watch particularly for "External"
and "Aux", they may have no volume associated but they can be turned on
(and off).

In Mandriva 2005, external was muted by default and it prevented any
sound from the speakers (bug 16582 REPORTED and FIXED,
http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16582).

If you find something similar, don't forget to report it to the Fedora
people.

Cheers,

	Manuel (the other Manuel).
