yeah, it brings along with an pre-install XP Home Edition. However,
I've formatted the disk and re-install a WindowXP on the first primary
partition and LINUX's "/" on a logical partition( that might be
problematic in some old linux distributions while recent distributions
are said to work well though).

However, if I choose "Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS-up(2.6.9-34.ELsmp)",
it can boot-up while "Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS(2.6.9-34EL)" makes
it halt at checking hardwares. I've looked up the difference betweent
the two kernels and find that "AS" support dual-core(like mine, T5500)
and "AS-up" simply does not.

That might be the problem, I guess.
However, as I tried before, the "RedHat Enterprise Linux AS" can work
well with a Xeon( two dual-core CPU) Dell Power Edge Server. So, can
anyone help me to figure out where the problem is?
