Sorry, but I lost last messages about this thread.
What is your video card?

I have Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics 
Controller (rev 03) and works fine to me (with 1280x800), but I read 
some messages that some video card need 915resolution (or 855resolution) 
module.

In Debian Etch, that is enought:
#aptitude install 915resolution (or 855resolution)
