Hello Paulo,

i have a Satellite Pro A100 (PSAACE-00N00RGR) using Ubuntu Feisty. I can
 suspend to RAM (S3) using the vesa Xorg driver in a few seconds. Wakeup
from S3 is almost instant. It's not possible to wakeup using the fglrx
driver, though.
Are you sure you didn't mean suspend to disk (S4/hibernation)? That
takes about 25 seconds for me (1GB RAM) which is still considerably
longer than in windows. Wakeup from S4 takes almost as long as the usual
boot/startup time, of course.
Also it would be helpful if you could be more descriptive with your
problem. Where exactly does it take so long? Are you able to resume
successfully afterwards? Is there any error on screen or can you find
something in your logfiles (dmesg/syslog)? What system do you use and by
which method do you invoke suspend?
