It has been some time since I booted from Kanotix but, I think you would cu=
rsor over to ACPI on - DMA on English and Enter. Once selected the boot fro=
m CD will progress.

You might get more complete information from the Kanotix forum.=20

Kanotix can be booted from LiveCD. Just download the iso and burn a CD. You=
may want to select English for the menu language. Default options worked =
on my laptop.

I have an A205-S4777 and ran into similar issues with Ubuntu 7.10 and its v=
ariant Kbuntu.=20

I gave up on both. I have found that Kanotix and SimplyMEPIS both do a good=
job with the hardware on this machine. Kanotix found all devices and worke=
d well. SimplyMEPIS did not locate the wireless card but, after a kernel re=
compile was able to work wireless.

Good Luck,

Bill=20

I am trying to get Ubuntu 7.10 on my laptop, but I've had lots of=20
problems as it doesn't appear my hardware is supported. I have a=20
RealTek wireless card and my modem is a software modem. I've tried=20
downloading the software to determine my modem's chipset, and it's done,=20
but I'm unsure as to what my next step is. Does anyone either have a=20
guide to help me get this setup or some other advice?

Thanks.
