The version of LVS in RHEL3 is a bit crufty - thats their call
not mine. However, in practice the main bug of concern that is
in that kernel is the jiffied bug you mention, and in 
practice that is not a problem as long as you load the
ip_vs module soon after boot and never remove and reinsert it.
This is what typically occurs on a production system, so
the jiffies bug is unlikely to be an issue.
