Hi David, sorry for being late. I am using a clone of the JOES2 build system on my local CentOS6. I decided to proceed this way because JOES2 is "usually not available" and EL6 provides some additional advantages like e.g. availability of eclipse. I'm afraid it will be better to include those compat macros in every spec because sooner or later others will be rebuilding stuff in EL6 environments. Or are you suggesting to put those macros into jpackage-utils? But there are many and often incompatible versions of jpackage-utils out there :-( NB: this trouble was created by Fedora/RHEL (unnecessary changes, IMHO) and we are just providing a workaround.
