     Indeed logrotate uses default adm for GROUP, and the logs that work
     all have root ! I also can see that rsyslog also uses adm as a
     default group. Something else is changing adm for root or
     vice-versa, Where can we make the correction ?

     Logrotate has configuration files in /etc/logrotate.d. You should be
     able to use those.
