Virtual provides and the creaky "multiarch stuff" isn't the only =
solution
to conflicting files in multilib packaging, nor is it even the best =
solution.

Fedora solved this p[roblem years ago by patching files to be platform
indepenmdent thereby eliminating the problem. Mandriva chose to create
a complex build solution instead of eliminating the root cause.

Everyone wants to be Just Like Fedora until some overly complex silly =
solution

can be devised instead.
