My version of get_iplayer was out-of-date, 1.28.  Performed an update as 
root and then had to go back into root to obtain plugins.  As a user I 
can no longer run get_iplayer without being told that get_iplayer is not 
writable.  It wants to update plugins every time.  Do I have to copy the 
plugins directory from root to user?

This is driving me mad!
