So thanks. While I did get further compiling, it needs another file, which I went and searched for which packages had this extra file, turns out the only one that has the right one is xlibs-dev, so I'll have to install that package anyway. > Downgrading to XFree86 v 4.2 and then using the sid packages to > upgrade again should solve it, but it isn't ideal...
