So... I take it that this "linux machine" is not the one with the
problem?  The card works fine on this system?

Are other compact flash cards working on this system?  Do you get any
useful information in your system log when the system wakes back up?

Since I have never used Linux on an ipaq or other ARM based system, I
may not be able to help much.
