I'm new to Linux, but our company is looking at porting one of our software products from Solaris/AIX platforms to a Linux platform. My understanding is that the Red Hat Advanced Server base code is derived from the 7.1, 7.2, and 7.3 code releases. My question is if I use the 8.0 compiler against the Advanced Server software, will that go against all of the code in one pass or do I need to do separate compilations for 7.3, 7.2, and 7.1? Like I said, I'm completely new to Linux so this may not make a lot of sense, but any advice that someone on the list can give me would be very much appreciated. Thank you!Gary S.
