when i don't have my sharp zaurus on the network, i like to move things from my laptop to the Z by inserting a CF card (using an adapter) into the laptop. the CF card is (at least in my case) available as device /dev/hdc1, so i can just # mount /dev/hdc1 /mnt/cf and go about my business. however, even after i umount the device, if i pop it out of the laptop, instant complete halt of the laptop. is there a safe, recommended way to eject a PCMCIA CF card without bringing the machine to a screeching halt? rday Robert P.
